  1. If you are going to fabricate the basic chassis I think double frame is an easy addition. I use the same materials which have been mentioned but also Plastruct ABS gray channel which you can order in double length . Sometimes 15 inches crowds overall length. Other possible reference sources , Kenworth Body Builder Manual for 2012 ,its the only one I have seen that includes C500. If you are building Canadian , Canadian Memo of Understanding on lengths and weights from 2024 I'm interested in your build because I want to build something similar except with the 38 inch sleeper. Thanks
  2. Nice work. What is the source of the handles on the battery box. Thanks .
  3. Basic paint work on cab complete except for hood slats. Latest mock up.
  4. Did a little work today before the heat in my garage got unbearable. Built inside door panels. Will add slam locks once they are painted.
  5. Got curious about paint selection so I did a little paint work to see. Completely out of build sequence. Finished the air cleaners. Added Plano railroad screen in the grille surround. It's an apex pattern similar to the KW pattern. They also make a Peterbilt oval pattern.
  6. Never seem to post anything finished so I thought I would post one. Twin steer straight truck with agricultural body and 22.5 ft ag hopper full trailer.
  7. Finally made a little progress. Built new cowl extensions. Opened the hood further to accomdate the severe service intake pipe. Built new removalble side slats and rails to hold them. Air cleaners are also built.
  8. Chassis weathering and basic air line plumbing including ride height leveler.
  9. Basis chassis painted. Detail painting on certain components prior to weathering and plumbing.
  10. Chassis finally complete enough for primer and paint . Also current mockup
  11. Working my way down the chassis a few items mounted. Latest mock up.
  12. The hood was hinged today and the cab cowl was removed so that a new one can be built to accommodate the severe service air cleaners on both sides.
  13. Sleeper roof sectioned. Turn out better than I thought. A little seam work to do.
  14. Sectioned the sleeper to 36" and added a rear window. Little seam work to do and still need to section the roof.
  15. Rebuit the chain racks they look much better. Everything is mounted to the deck. Binders added just for the photo.
  16. Built chain racks to go with the chain tray built in to deck and built a hose tender for air and electrical lines.
  17. Built a headache rack/ drom deck today. Latest mock up.
  18. A little progress. Cut the hood so it will open. Added center spine. Cut 1/8 off each side to get rid of the bad edge where the side slats fit and replace with strip stock. Opened the left side for the second air cleaner.
  19. Built cab mounts, some Kenworth crossmembers and some others to hold the rear suspensions. Got part of the 5th wheel built primarily to hold the frame together since nothing is glued. Basis interior is started. All this is enough to get the cab, hood and radiator level. Next is cutting the hood and building hood slats and the cab cowl.
  20. Got the fenders built. Attached the fronts of the fenders to the back of the bumper. Also latest mockup.
  21. Got the front axle on. Metal axle, Italeri spindles and plates, brass tie rod and ujoints. Engine mounts built and engine leveled to fit radiator . Using a Cat 3408. Surprised by the small parts count. It needs some more components. Battery box cleaned up.
  22. Amazing work as always. Noticed the grab handles on the cab. did you make them or are they aftermarket? Thanks.
  23. Too hot to work in my garage. Built quad headlight nacelles this morning.
  24. Got started yesterday. Took Dr. Dremel to the radiator surround and opened the front and added the radiator core from the amt kit. Did the same with the grille and put the slats back in flush since I may put a winterfront on. Built a new box bumper rather than try and fix the kit one. Added sissy sticks and built a new tow ring. Cleaned up the moose guard and got rid of the hooks.
