55 Chevy pickup dropped front end with scratched bars, scratched and (still needing some modding) bomber seats and cushions. Cut out the stock exhaust so replaced whole floor (ribbed on the underside an all) and made up some engine and trans crossmember mounts so as it sits its at the perfect height , just need to make up some shock mounts and mount the radiator and I can start painting it

Resin body, AMT 32 ? chassis I think (outta ma parts box). Blown caddy from the ole 59 Elcam, blue streak slicks, Halibrands from a Polar lights funny and some old dragster wires up front all out of my parts boxes. Gonna be pretty channeled as pics to follow show. Caddy headers didnt want to play ball for the pics but Im sure ya'll get the general idea not to good at this hot roddy stuff, so its leaning more to the drag rod side

Stretch Deora Hauler
brett replied to Nitrozilla's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The width of the haulers bed only has to be as wide as the track (width) of the slicks on the car. Mirrors would work out ok then , and if you're worried about someone walking into the cannards, make up a little flag with a thread (rope) loop to hang around them while in transit. I was assuming (dangerous I know) that you would be using guide ramps(tracks) to keep the car from sliding sideways on the deck so that should eliminate most of the problems , no?? You've come to far to turn back now, it doesn't have to work, just look like it could.Don't know of any 1:25th policemen that would give you a ticket for dangerous cannards -
nice job on the rear chassis Niko

You do some really nice work Steven

Joe, I gotta get to the hobby shop to get some more sheet brass before I can get back to the horseman build, though it seems to be a bit pointless updating threads (seemingly) for my own amusement . I got a secretish project going on that I only have 2 weeks to build from a rough mockup so once thats out of the way I'll get back into it then. Call it modellers ADD if you want but it will be done by the end of October.

Thanks guys, Almost done, decided to use some leftover decals I had, rather appropriately from a blue 41 willys. Minor touch ups to do and I decided to attach an as yet unattached (confused yet) parachute

I'll admit I was very unsure about your interior but now its done I have to say you've tied it all together very well. Not to say I didnt think you could pull it off because that I didnt doubt (just that I kinda lack in the forward visionary department in things that I'm not doing ie other peoples visions). Great work,I'll be watching for more -
" Mercury Rising": 49 Mercury Convertible / "Bubble Top"
brett replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I leave the copyrighting on most of my builds too. Why? so if something was to happen to me the wife and kids would have an easier time trying to describe any built kits they might need/want to sell. Ken perfectly legitimate ? but was the remark at the beginning needed? I'm no more of a John fan than I am of countless others that post their work here. -
Been Saturday all day here so far all 17 hrs so far

The old AMT kit, just a box stocker , got a couple of detailed projects underway and just wanted some thing simple to work on in between. not too bad a kit for its age, a little flash but that's nothing unusual for a n older kit or AMT

70 Roadrunner kit in high demand?
brett replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In high demand from me thats for sure. Impossible to get down here . Speaking of being sniped , twice in the last 2 weeks on the very same kit , a johan pinto funny car. 1st buyer didnt pay for it so it got relisted, I bid the first day it came back on and was sniped in the last few cause I was doing the dishes grrr -
Thanks mate about another twenty doorslammers to go at this scale (all with brass chassis) learning easier and better ways with each one so hopefully by the end I should have that looks ok. got a little done today and a couple more gratuitous mockups as you can see I cracked the back guard today so I might do a little more body work
