Working on a couple of '48 Ford Convertibles for an online contest. The first one is a 5 dollar gluebomb IMC and the second one is a Testors flatbox. The Testors is a little further along than the IMC/Union Ford. Did a little modification (snicker..hee hee) on the IMC/Union by adding a Revell '48 Caddy grill..grill surround is homemade also added the side trim because the original came with chrome tape trim.Cut out the original rear axle and added a modern pumkin rear end..motor is a 427 Ford. Molding on the fenders was done with half round facing the body to make the transition easier. Tail lights were removed ...bumper guard lites are in the works. yada yada yada.... narrowed rear spring and "new" pumpkin rear windshield glass removal....hahahaha this styrene is so fraaagiiiiLeee.. broke it in three pieces ... one piece again.. peek at Revell '48 Caddy grill and custom grill surround. Styrene added to the front cowl , fender joints and door openings. sanded down the glued upper grill and started the grill surround progress... buckets were glued in with a small space , left between the body and the rings, to create a kind of extended frenched in look. this shot includes the added half round side trim sanded down to flatten it a bit. also shows the chopped convertible top. If you are interested in them , I'll trade for some left over '32 suspension parts? Or even a set of '32 mag wheels.
-
Well here they are....but looking at them on my bench. I think they look better on you '56 project...LOL
-
Kenn...I got the couple from the '59 Ford retractable top. I'll post them up for you... The "Gang Busters" kit had gangsters, booze and weapons. Maybe someone here knows if they are made in resin..who knows?

WhoooooDooogiiee! That there is the Valedictorian of the Class of '56. The '56 Olds grill/bumper is one of my favorite front end designs, including the head light rings. Thanks Rich...

Looking Gangsterish...the rear door handle is the clue.. don't forget to add the rear door hindges. From one styrene cutter to another.. I would fill the door line and the extra handle hole with stretched sprue ....sand then add the putty. (makes for smoother body work and less putty shrinkage) The rain gutter can be sanded away then added with stretched sprue too. (much easier than trying to match the modification) Just my two cents....subscribed.

Joker replied to Dominik's topic in WIP: NASCAR
The shop rags on the intake manifold are a nice little detail you added ..along with the rest of your build. Wish you could do something with all the left over sprue knob pieces...my '50 Olds was the same way. Subcribed...
