  1. Pretty creative photoshopping by someone... The best is the 'mute' button, it must be a reference to Kimi telling his crew to "just leave me alone, I know what to do" when he took the lead of the Abu Dhabi GP last year and won Love that character Kimi!
  2. AWESOME Ron! Love the look of the W engine in there!
  3. Nice work Walt! Keep it going
  4. Future collectible??? Maybe in 40 years or so...
  5. These incredible machines are like Mike said, designed & built to the specs of the rule book, then thoroughly tested by computer, in wind tunnels (both scale models and 1:1) and finally limited (by the rule book) on-track testing (which officially starts next week prior to the seasons start in 40 days). Some teams do a better job of making them 'pleasing to the eye' (I think they look best in bare carbon myself, but they gotta have liveries), here's a linky to the four teams that have officially launched this years cars so far: http://www.formula1.com/gallery/launches/

  7. Looks great Ryan! I like the sounds of the colors you have in mind
  8. Another great build Derrick!
  9. Cool idea! The 1/32 build is my favorite, much sleeker!

  11. Oooh, I like that!
  12. I don't think they look great on ALL rods, but some do:
  13. Yes, thanks Bill! You've made it look easy, will have to try it on the Hudson gasser that I've got the front clip removed from already...

  16. Very cool idea!
  17. They are modified 2007-up (new body style) extended cab door GM pickup hinges...they allow for a full 170 degrees of rotation.
  18. Al @ Ma's resin makes quite a few different off-road tires, but none exactly like those pictured. Check 'em out: http://public.fotki.com/cnaind/truck-tires--wheels/off-road--pickup-tires/
  19. The distinctive grille is made in resin by a member here, although he hasn't posted in awhile... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41106&hl=terraplane
  20. Thanks guys... Erik, I enlarged the reflector openings in the rear bumper fascia and installed oval LED tails, with new back-up lights below. This plastic fascia will go away eventually and be replaced by a chromed steel bumper
  21. Great work Dan! Very different Me likey Jeeps
  22. Now that's a different take on the '32!
  23. The Chevy HHR was produced from 2006-2011, and enjoys a small but loyal following, more so when they were still in production, but still active today as there are many of these on the road. They were produced in several versions: wagon panel "half-panel" AA5 and SS versions of each I bought my 1:1 2006 base LS wagon new in July of '06, took it home and started cutting Split the hatch down the middle in preparation for the barn door fabrication... cut out the taillight 'blisters' to accommodate English-wheel formed fillers to shave the tails: And this is as far as I got before... life got in the way, we had another child, my daily driver finally wore out & the HHR became my new every-day ride I'll finish it someday... Here's my renderings of the basic plan: And a photochop of what I'd like to do to the sides, to add character to the too-smooth factory panels: For now though, I have to settle on a resin version... This is RMR's new casting, which includes everything you see here: I've started by cutting out the 'C' pillars, slicing off the running boards, and smoothing the tail 'blisters', pics of that and more to come...
