  1. Awesome work as usual Jim!!! I've gotta work some overtime and get you to machine a set of 1/8 rims
  2. Thanks Adam! Yes, these American Racing Salt Flats rims are cool...Casey repops them you know
  3. Sorry for the delay...here's the pics as promised: Looks like the front tires are from original tooling, as they still have "Firestone" branding, and were NOT bagged "made in China" like the new, soft rears... [
  4. Nope Del...that was Saturday LOL. Sunday was spent working on the house!
  5. I'll get the pics taken this evening...gotta get more done outside before the rains come!
  6. Love the '41 Ron! She's a BEAST, with your signature great detailing!
  7. Thanks everyone! This was a fun, quick project, about 4 hours TOTAL in this one. I thought about bashing it with the AMT Chevy fleetline to do an Olds fastback, but wanted to see something finished without all of the "burnout" associated with complicated projects. I think the 2-door sedan body is cool though... Here's the funnest part of diecast rebuilds: Don't shy away from diecasts because they're not styrene...there are some unique subjects out there, good for a quickie to get the creative juices flowing again!
  8. Happy Birthday Chuck!!! Wow, to be 30 again...
  9. Very cool Ron!!! Great detailing, wow!
  10. Here's Ertl's 1/25 diecast 1950 Oldsmobile, given to me by my good friend Dave (thanks Dave!!!) A disassembly, stripping, prepping, and a satin hot rod grey primer job, followed by a set of Revell '57 Chevy snap kit wheels & tires on a lowered chassis. A little detailing and reassembly, and I'm calling this one DONE!!! Dick (Landy) approves!
  11. X2!!! That's a great job on the figure Derrick!
  12. Very nice so far Art!
  13. Welcome to the best model car building site on the planet Justin!!! That GMC is looking great so far! Nice scratchbuilding. Hey, you asked about offroad tires in my '64 Chevy thread, here's a few sources: http://public.fotki.com/cnaind/truck-tires--wheels/off-road--pickup-tires/page2.html http://stores.ebay.com/Trevors-Toy-Box?_rdc=1 And here's the best resource for offroad tire sizes, styles, etc: http://www.magazinepublisher.com/models/tires/tires.html
  14. Just picked one up at my LHS today. He just got them in yesterday This new version includes a STYRENE hood, as seen here: Take a look at the box...contents MOLDED IN USA!!! I can't believe there is some old tooling that DIDN'T go to China! But the new styrene hood is China made...
  15. She's a BEAUTY Jonathan! Great job, I like the color ALOT!
  16. Very KEWL!!! Nicely finished! What scale are they???

  19. WOW!!! Love that Henway! (I've never heard of one!) Looks a lttle like an old Diamond Reo grille up front... Is it a diecast Terry? 1/24?
  20. Nice save Dave! Looks like another winner!
  21. Ooooh, I like that Jim! Nicely done
  22. Neat car! There'd be NO problem gettin' heat into those rear tires!
  23. I thought this thread needed a "bump" I think this is a good idea for us modelers that are notorious "non-finishers" I'm sendin' someone something to get finished!!!
