DENCON - No longer taking website orders
Keef replied to Drake69's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
i went on a resin buying spree around the end of february-first of march this year, simply because in all of my years of modeling i had never bought any resin products before. i probably bought 2-300 bucks worth of stuff, and out of all of that the only 2 problems i had were with the $30 worth of parts from Dencon, and a hood from "Jimmys House of Resin" on ebay. the only problem i had with the hood i purchased was it is so thin and flimsy it actually split while i was lightly sanding off some casting flash, as well as the fact that underneath you can see where the scoop was held to the hood with masking tape while it was cast....yes the masking tape is cast into the underside of the hood!!! all i ordered from Dencon was a set of the Weld Draglite front and rear wheels and 2 of the 79 Dodge Truck conversions, i ordered AND paid on March 2nd thru paypal and have yet to see anything.i sent an email asking for a "guesstimate" on when i might get them, the reply said "i dont know". I tried to file a complaint with paypal and it was denied( maybe i didnt do it right?)and now it has been almost 3 months instead of the 5-6 weeks his website claimed. -

Testors Chrysler engine red

copied from this website: http://www.turbinecar.com/misc/enginecolor.htm Below is what I have come up with as a good start to find the correct engine color for Mopar engines from 1960 to 1973. After about 1969 they were all pretty much Blue except for a few odd balls. I have seen Slant sixes in Black in the early 60's sales brochures but those are not the best source. I have used information from the Plymouth Owner's club, Walter P. Chrysler Club and various web sites to assemble this list. Engine colors were and still are subject of much debate. It seems no one at the factory really cared about any kind of specification for paint - as long as it got painted - it was ok. These are what I have found to be considered normal or standard - if there is such a thing. Your comments are welcome - however be prepared to back up your arguments with facts from somewhere. I would hope this will be a help to those who are trying to restore their classic Mopar to as near original as possible. The paint numbers are from Mopar Performance and may or may not be available from your local dealer.
