  1. According to what's been found out, it will be the same C600 kit as the stake bed truck, just with a box instead of the stake. No one seems to be sure why they chose the diecast for the box art.
  2. That would be funny if it actually happened on show, though!
  3. We're cool . Seems betwen the two of us, we're pretty knowlegible about the movie/book cars.
  4. I'm aware that she was supposed to be a special order color Fury in the book, and that she was also supposed be a 4 door. That just show that King didn't do the research when he wrote the book, in 1958, the Fury was only available as a 2 door.
  5. The cars used in the movei were Belvederes and Savoys. Also, in 1958, the Fury was only available in Beige and Gold, not red and white, which was a Blevedere/Savoy combination. The trim on the car is also incorrect for a Fury. Here's a screenshot from the movie compare that to an actual Fury. Notice the gold trim and different hubcaps. The mirrors are also different.
  6. No, Christine was a '58 Belvedere, though many sources mistakingly call her a "Sport Fury".
  7. Here's the only pic I can find of the rear suspension.http://public.fotki....erica13-vi.html. Here's the link to the rest of the album http://public.fotki....oss-truck-of-a/.
  8. The C600 has been discussed over on Spotlight. It's been determined that the picture on the box is actually a 1/34 scale 1rst Gear diecast.
  9. Went to the last local car show earlier today. Go Figure, it rained pretty much the entire time. There was still a pretty good turnout. All the vehicles present were driven there, which made for an intersting drive home for some of them. My neighbor, who owns the green Model A, not only had to deal with not having a top, but also the lack of wet weather perfomance of the cheater slicks that he's running. http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/kk203/Longbox55/Run%20For%20Fun%20Car%20Show%202012/
  10. Actually, the VIN does identify V8 cars. The number will start with a "V" on V8 cars. Here's the Factory ID guide showing how the read the VIN (originally calles Serial Number) http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/chevyresto/57011.htm
  11. Only 7.75%???? That's better than Illinois, which is at minimum 8.25%, depending on what county you're in!
  12. I suppose what's on the sidewalls of the tires will depend on what Corky Coker has to say about it, as that's who manuafactures the tires that's on the 1:1 car.
  13. Or have to build an outbuilding to store them in
  14. I'm with Pat, use gloss black with the color shift paints. As far as a clear goes, the only one I've done where I used a clear, I used the Kustom Kolor rattle can clear. Wasn't really impressed with the shine, I got better results prepping the base and not clearing it. I do plan on testing some of the other clears I have in the workshop (Tamiya TS13, Testors Wet Look, Duplicolor Paint Shop) to see how they react.
  15. That's the same as what I have. From what I understand, it's a modified urethane. It isn't really a bad paint, just poorly marketed. Oh, and on the color shift paints, don't let what you see in the bottle fool you. The final colors are much richer that what you see, especially on Aquarius Shift, which is a deep blue/green flip.
  16. It's hard to see, but it does look like it might just have the beam axle.
  17. I've actually had decent success using the Testors/Decal Gear paper. Printing black seems to be the only major downfall I've experienced with it. On the other hand, I've had pretty much nothing but trouble with Bare Metal Foils decal paper, mainly that virtually nothing sticks to it, and it seems to be very UV sensative. Supercal paper has also worked well for me. I can't speak for any other brand, a sthose are the only 3 I've tried.
  18. Another question that can be posed here for a proper answer would be this; What sort of base are you going to be using it over? Laquers? Enamels? Acrylics? Each wil react differently to whatever is put on top of them.
  19. Whenever it comes out, I'm definitly getting a few of them. One to build up like the 1:1, and at least one more to build it in the color i suggested when they had the informal poll on the site. I even already have the paint to do that one. Might also swap the engine to the one I suggested during that informal poll, which was mentioned on the show when he did the unvail of the actual engine. I was the one nutcase that suggested a Pontiac engine
  20. They're bringing out a 3/4 ton '55 GMC???? Seriously, though, that's one that that irked me about the old Monogram kit, too. Or worse, the "Dana 60/Ford 9"/ whatever it was" differential from the old JoHan kit. Side note, the Spicer/Dana 60 was more commonly used as a light truck differential, mostly as a full float rear axl in 3/4 ton and single wheel 1 tons. GMC, IH, Ford, Dodge, and even a few Chevrolets used them. It was also common in 1 ton 4x4s as a front axle, and can still be found under most 3/4 and 1 ton vans in semi and full float variants. The Dodge/Plymouth Hemi cars were the only passenger car application of this axle (I have hears rumors of 440 cars with it as well).
  21. The color shft paints should be used over black, though it does not have to be flat black. I've shot them over gloss blass black, they turn out very nic. I did test them over different colors just to see if it would work, but it just seems to mute the color shift effect to the point of not being worth shooting it that way. I did this one with Carribean Surf on the bottom, Tequila Sunrise on the top. shot over gloss black, with a Duplicolor primer base that was polished out. The primer and base were rattle can, the finish coats were shot with (GASP) a Harbor Freight airbrush. These were the Kustom Kolor versions. A little tip if what you have is indeed Kustom Kolor, since the KK paints tend to be a little soft, add a bit of Valspar Enamel Hardener #4625 to the mixh before you spray. It really helps with the dry time, hardness, and overall shine. You can get it anywhere that sells Valspar solvent base paints, I found it at Tractor Supply.
  22. As with most vehicles in the GTA franchise, it is a mix of several different cars. Like Mike says, it's essentially a '70 Olds 442, with a little '70-'72 Chevelle and Buick GSX thrown in. The grille is lifted from an AMC Rebel.
  23. If they stayed true to the how the Rat Roaster is built, it should have a triangulated 4 link w/coil overs. It should also have a TKO 5 speed manual, instead of the automatic transmissions that have been in the prior '32 Ford kits.
