  1. Can't be any worse than the bulk of the "reality" shows that are already on the the tube!
  2. I don't beleive anyone makes the 15" (3/4 ton) or 17.5" (1 ton) split rims used on the old Chevies. I have seen the 8 lug steelies mentioned, they are very nice, but they are also for a much later ('60s) truck.
  3. I'm amused by the whining about the "missing" master cylinder! It's not even visable from underneath on the actual car, as it's hidden inside a frame cross member. Check at 0:14, you'll see where it is.
  4. The master cylinder is tucked inside the X member of the frame on the 1:1, however, there should a master cylinder for the hydraulic clutch mounted on the frame.
  5. Another one that's a match to that color is Minneapolis-Moline red, which can be found at any farm supply store. BTW, Ford Candyapple Red is not a metallic.
  6. Thanks for finding that. On the site and the show, there was no mention on exactly what was done for the stripe. That does explain why it didn't really look like a separate peice, and at some angles, it wasn't as shiney. Now the real trick is going to be replicating it accurately in 1/25 scale.
  7. Still haven't found out anyhting on the "trim" yet. I had to reset my password on the Gearz site (been a while since I've been there), and it seems I can't post in the formum there. My posts keep getting deleted/lost/not posting. I did make a post in their Chatter section, but no response yet. I have, however, looked at pretty much all of the pics showing the sides of the car that are on the site, and the "trim" looks to actually just be a silver paint stripe along the character line, which is oulines with a white pinstripe.
  8. I think what he means is that the engine in the kit is inacurate as far as being a B/RB Cherylser engine, rather than the B/RB not being available in the 1:1 truck.

  10. Besides the valve cover, the water pump is in a different location (much higher than the '60. The fan will end up lining up with the radiator upper tank), the lifter/pushod cover on the side of the block is taller and actually covers part of the head, the oil pan is different, and the visible parts of the head bolt pattern is different. Also, the '50 engine also has an oil distribution valve that the later 235s do not have.
  11. Just throwing this out there, the bodies from the Buttera based kits do fit right onto the AMT Model T frames perfectly. In fact, I'm converting a Demons '26 Delivery to a stock T using a spare AMT frame.
  12. I can't say for the earlier issues, but the shortbed trucks, and the Thunders Truck and monster truck longbeds all have a B block engine, rather than the LA smallblock. That includes the LRE, which is odd as the big block was not available in that particular version (it was an option on the Warlock, though).
  13. That is correct, but for cars only. The trucks stil have the radiator on the backside of the core support, but the support is moved forward about 4" on the 1:1.
  14. The sump goes to the rear. If you're looking for accuracy, though, you'll want to use the engine from the AMT '60 Chevy truck, as the '50 is not correct for a post '55.
  15. I'm trying to get confirmation on that, but I'm having some trouble posting on the site (it's been a while since I've been on there). Just looking at it myself, thouhg, I'm inclined to think it might actually be painted, rather than an actual separate trim peice. There is a white pinstripe running around the outside of the silver part. I will admit, it is somewat hard to tell, as with the lighting at some angle it looks like brushed stainless or maybe aluminum, but other angles it looks like a really bright silver metallic paint. Once I can get a confirmation either way (I'll get the color code if it indeed paint), I'll pass the information along.
  16. Here's something that most folks may not know, the decal set in the Boondocker, as well as the MK reissue, was in fact an actual option on the '71-'72 Blazer. Chevrolet called the design "Feathers".
  17. The '69 diecast Blazer does not share any parts with the plastic kit. On the '95-current issue of the '72 long Fleetside, from what I understand, it is a mix of the bed from the MPC kit, and a retooling of the AMT longbed GMC Sierra Grande. That has the unfortunate effect of making the GMC no longer able to be produced.
  18. That kit is basically a rehash of the Li'l John Buterra car, not a bad kit overall. The Jag suspension is a little fiddly, and the frame can be a little tricky to get aligned up straight. Otherwise, it goes together without much issue.
  19. That engine was also in the Hemi Hydro speedboat kit, too.
  20. When you watch that particular episode, Stacey mentions all the chatter from the Gearz website speculating and/or suggesting an engine for the car. The last one he mentions is that someone even mentioned putting a Pontiac in it. I'm the guilty party there. As far as putting a Chevy engine in old Fords, it's like the old saying goes, "Fords go fast, with Chevy parts!"
  21. You're not too far off. The Stingray Concept was featured as Sideswipe in the last 2 Transformers movies.
  22. For those who keep pointing out all the cues that GM "stole" from Ferrari, Nissan, and Viper, here's the original prototype from '09. Seems the others did their fair share of "design theft" themselves.
  23. All the Revell Silverados I've seen were 2wd. I do know that the early issues of the kit show a 1:1 4x4 on the box, as did the original catalog picture (in fact, the catalog showed a standard cab longbed 4x4). That is the version I have, but the kit in box is definitly a 2wd.
  24. The Revell '99 kit is 2wd too. The closest 4x4 suspension you'll find that is correct for the '88-'98 will be the AMT Tahoe snap kit, but it is molded to the chassis. I seem to recall that there is a resin caster that offers a casting of of it, though. Alternatevely, you could use the susension from the Fujimi Astro van, which is heavily based on the GMT400 4x4 suspension. The steering linkage would have to altered, but the control arms, splindles, and axle center section and 1/2 shafts could be used intact.
