  1. My name is Gary. I was a welder with a family before the world went mad. I am alone as of now, my family did not make it. This will be my story and if you are reading this then that means I did not make it either. The accounts you are to read are not fiction, they are not a story, they are the events of my survival in this new world. My only advice to you reading this is God Speed and may God have mercy upon us! This is the first day that I have had a chance to stop and write. Its been about a month(I think) since the world went to hell. I have finally made it out of the city and into a small town 100 miles or so from where I started. Im not sure what really happened, and probably never will. I have been on foot since leaving since it was imposssible to find a vehicle that would run. It seems that what ever has happened has caused people to turn inot "things". They have an unending thirst for human blood. Also I have seen that anyone biten by these things will cause an infecton that causes people to turn. The only way to stop these things is a shot to the head or take the head off. Moving at night seems to be safer than the day as the day is just to dangerous to be on foot. Hopefully I can find some sort of transportation here in this town Well the sun is starting to come up, so time to find a place to hold up.
  2. God Speed my friend! Take care and THANK YOU!!!! We have never met and probably never will, but you have my utmost RESPECT and you will be kept in my prayers. Gary
  3. Getting a little more done tonight. Got the first coat of paint on the bed and hood, and salted them. This is my first time weathering a build, so hopefully it comes out. Should also have first coat of paint on the cab within the next 30min or so. How do you weather an engine? Ive been thinking of how to do it, but havent come up with any ideas. Thanks Gary
  4. This is my 7yr old sons first build. Its a shap kit, but he did everything but the paint, he wanted me to spray it for him. Thanks for looking. Gary
  5. This is the Dodge Im working on. Using monster truck springs for the lift, and I have some Irocks from So Real that I want to use. It has a 50 cal on the top of the cab along with some flood lights pointing off to the sides. The bed has been cut down to have two gunner positions with either 30 cal or 50 cals(dont know which I want to use) then I have 3 barrels that will hold extra fuel, water and oil, and last but not least it has the working end of a tow truck to either help out someone who has some problems or to open those stubborn locked doors and gates that we may find along the way...lol Let me know what you think. Thanks Gary
  6. looks like it would be a blast to drive! Looks like it might need a wheelie bar.

Take it easy Gary

  21. What do you guys use to detail your engines? such as spark plug wires, battery cables and everything else. Is everything scratch built or is there somewhere to get that stuff. The reason i ask is I have a 79 Bronco that I want to build to match the one I used to have, and I would like to really detail it as much as possible. Thanks for your time. Gary

  23. Whats a dual action airbrush? do you have to have a compressor to use an airbrush? i have always wanted to get one, but never knew anything about them. this a good thread for first time airbrush users(like me..lol)
  24. Abell82 thanks for the website that is the stuff im looking for, the only bad thing is it says they are no longer taking orders, but thanks anyway. As for the exo-cage I'm using 3/32 welding rod with the flux knocked off. Already have some bent, just need time to do the rest. Is there any other web sites that sell resign parts? Doesnt have to pertain to off road, just want to build up a stock of parts. Also what do i have to do to get some pics on here? Do i need to set up a photobucket account?
  25. Wanted to introduce myself. My name is Gary, im 32 and living in Casper WY. I used to build models when i was a kid and stopped when i was 16, but now getting back into it. i have been looking through the forums at everyones projects and all I can say is "Dam you guys are good!" I hope to hone my skills so that one day i will have something worth posting on here. Right now I am building a 1996 Ford Explorer into a trail rig. So far I have made a custom lift, solid axle swap from a CJ-7, builing custom aluminum bumpers front and rear and will be building an exo-cage for it also. The only problem that I have is I have no idea where I can find parts, such as off road parts, or just any custom parts in general. So where do you guys find your stuff at? How do you cast your own parts?
