  1. Yeah, I'd hate to get rid of them though... for 20 years I spent my time begging him to give them to me He just recently handed them over ~ which was a good thing. I would've destroyed every single one of them if I had them when I was younger. The Dukes of Hazzard was a bad influence on me.
  2. I'm about 25 minutes south of Pittsburgh (go steelers! ) Thanks for the comment, this is a great site.
  3. Thanks for the tip, you might have saved me from having an "episode" haha ~ The frame was straight enough... but I found that the fire wall was hitting the motor when I test fitted it. All is well, the fire wall to body glue job was still fresh and I was able to move it before any major damage was done.
  4. The models my Uncle gave me were sitting on a shelf, untouched for over 40 years... the dust build-up and dead spiders are insane! But it gives them all a nice touch, majestic in a way. Most of them don't have windows and many of them are missing parts. I restored two of them so far, a Corvette and an Avanti... will post them all on a new forum one of these days. Keep your eyes on the look out. For now, here's a hint of what they all look like
  5. Thanks, couldn't help but noticed your avatar photo... got me to diggin through some of those old models my Uncle gave me
  6. Nice! I like the color on this one... a big mustang fan here, most of my unbuilt models are mustangs
  7. WOW! I'm speechless ~ that is a bad (cuss word) build... the detail is simply amazing! It's inspirational to see a model looking so good, makes me want to keep building so I can be (almost) as good I'm working on a '66 bird at the moment, just about finished. The antenna you have there gives this one a sense of realism, a nice touch to an already perfect model. Was thinking about putting one on mine but I'm a little nervous on screwing it up... got any tips?
  8. That engine is crazy! Awesome detail on everything... thumbs up!
  9. Hey guys, James here... I'm 36 years old, living in PA. Been checking this site out for the last two days and thought I'd join. I've been building scale models off and on for the past few (25) years. Time is going quick! wow... Anyway, it's been close to five years since I built anything ~ I just recently found myself with some "free time" and decided to finally start building again. Right now I'm working on a 1966 Ford Thunderbird, 1/25 scale AMT model I'll post some photos of the progress as soon I can. And a few of my past builds as well, including some models my Uncle gave me ~ which I'm planning to "restore" one of these days. They are all over 45 years old, very cool... and interesting. Well, get back to the build! Just thought I'd say hello, instead of just sitting here drooling all over your model photos.
