This is one I built a few years ago. Chopped the top approx 3-4 scale inches. Body was fit over the 32 chassis from the 29 roadster kit using all the drivetrain and suspension from said kit. Wheels were from 37 Ford pick up. I can’t remember exact colour used but I do know I put some gold pearl in the clear.

Well done Tim. I have a large collection of 1/43 kits built and still to build. I like that they don’t take a huge amount of time and they take up very little space!

Thanks Larry Thanks Cliff Thanks Christopher

Hey Greg, Thanks for your interest. The finish is alclad duraluminium then I used a product called SNJ polishing powder and lastly a black was. The ribs didnt get as shiny as I hoped but happy none the less. I hope to be at the rescheduled show in september so you can see it in person Russ

This one just finished a few weeks back. was built as a slammer with no engine or suspension. Body is a Jimmy Flintstone casting that was one of the better ones I’ve had. I had grief with the rumble seat keeping even gaps so I just filled it out of frustration. Lengthened hood to fit better, added caddy style rear lenses and 37 Ford wheels with parts now tires. Gotta love these old kits that need so much massaging! Paint is tamiya pearl green with racing white for interior and wheels.

Hi Jason yes you are right no matter how much you measure twice and cut once! Here is an underside shot didn’t think too many would see it so it’s a bit untidy?

Hi Tim, thanks for comment I’m glad you like my colour choice as I wanted a fifties/sixties vibe. As for the colour it is a custom mix from my local auto paint store.

Thanks for the comments. Like I said it was one of those rare times things just fit together.

thanks for everyones interest! Like I said I don't normally do this so its nice to hear comments.

Thanks for your comments. Yes it is one of "those" kits I was lucky enough to but two when they were released! The flathead is from the revell 32 sedan that needs to be rereleased again! The blue I had mixed up at a local auto paint store.

With all this time on my hands I thought I’d submit some pics. I hope you enjoy! This was a quick build that went together better than I thought! It is the amt body, interior and wheels and tires on the Revell 32 frame from the 29 kit. Hope you enjoy

With all this time on my hands I thought I’d submit some pics. I hope you enjoy! First is the 40 p/u. Idea was to get low in the weeds so used a Art Morrison chassis from the wagon rod. Had to lengthen a small amount but other than that it drops right in.Replaced the bed floor with wooden coffee sticks Paint is my version of a candy apple red. Silver base, mica red, clear red then clear. Second is the coupe built box stock but with the Kelsey Hayes from the 32 sedan. color for this is a Jeep color called rescue green. Hard to photograph but a cool color. comment and critiques welcome

Started messing around with my iPad and self isolation and took some pics of my latest. It is my rendition of old school hot rod using as many traditional parts I could find in my stash. paint is a dark Washington blue, I know it looks black ,but in the sun it’s cool! Wheels are from the 37 Ford p/u. quick change and Scot blower are rep& min items. The wood is coffee stir sticks and I’m going to use the same around the rear and side windows for something different. please excuse the fingerprints as it’s still work in progress

I was wondering how you fellow modelers put a value on kits that are long OOP and no current listings on evilbay are to be found? Do you let things happen naturally on bidding or put reserves or start high. Just wondering thoughts. Thanks These are mostly resin kits

Hi all Was hoping someone might shed some light on this format for me. I'm looking to produce 4 inch scale louvers for the 1/8 scale deuce. I have searched online and requested different vendors on shapeways but no response. The only ones I've found are 1/24 scale. Anyone on this forum have the skillset I need to produce? Thanks for looking Russ

Thanks for your input Bill. I also am a big fan of duplicolor as well, so I will give it a try and who knows I may even post results!

Greetings, I have a goal of doing one of those miles deep black paint jobs on a 1/16 scale kit and was wondering about opinions on whether to use airbrush or spray can. My thinking is with the spray can the coverage would be more consistent on this scale. Would love to know opinions. Thanks, Russ

Hey Fellow Modelers, First time building this kit and was wondering if I can glue inner fenders and firewall in place before painting. I'm keeping kit flathead if that helps. Looks like it should be fine but was wondering how it works best. Thanks, Russ
