  1. So really what you're saying Joe is she drives like everyone else in Chicago! LOL!! At least if the Charger does ever lose its front bumper, from past experience driving in Chicago, you'll be able to find a new one laying along the highway somewhere!! LOL!!
  2. Hmmmm....I think I might have to check in with the shop here at work and find out!! I always thought it was the way I first said, but I'll check with one of the better mechanics here at the yard that I also found is a modeler as well! I'm sure he'll steer us in the right direction!
  3. Nope, just nobody decided to pay attention to the messages I did send! Funny thing is, after getting the truck fixed and going to bed at 7 AM, and telling my dispatcher yesterday I was going to be temporarily without a phone, the idiot calls me at noon when I never told him I was going to try and get a phone last night and see if I was feeling alright because he couldn't even remember that I was upset yesterday because of the argument me and the better half had before I came to work, not sick! I think me and the terminal manager here are going to have a little chat tomorrow about me getting a dispatcher who might actually listen! Oh, one plus side to this new phone, I can check in more often now, I don't need WiFi on the laptop!
  4. That brought a smile to my face, I needed that!
  5. The easy way to find out is measure from the middle of the front axle stub to the middle of the first drive axle stub and multiply that by 25 to get the real wheelbase. Example: If the measurement is 8 inches, then the real wheelbase would be 200 inches.
  6. Hmmmmmmm.........I just don't know what was worse today, getting in an argument with my better half and my phone earning its last frequent flyer mileage or having to shell out the dough to replace said phone, or StraightTalk's website that would let me do everything BUT register my new phone so I could maybe......oh I don't know......make a call so I could get my work truck fixed!! Air leaking on a truck with AIR BRAKES isn't a good thing, and even worse when you can't call for help! At least the bright spot, the truck stop I'm in has a McDonald's with free wifi, so after the attempt to use it to register the phone that failed miserably, I tried the old phone to see if I could make one last call, and it did! The buttons are bulging out of it, the screen is no more, but it still dialed and talked, and the new phone was registered, and now road service is on the way! I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE JUST STAYED IN BED!!!
  7. Actually, and this is just my opinion, but as for time periods for both unless you are going on a "period" theme, they are just as usable for a modern truck pulling a Moebius 53 foot Great Dane as they are pulling one of AMT's 70s era trailers like the 40 foot Fruehauf vans. Yes, they are not as common today as they would have been new, but there are still some of them out working today.
  8. I think, even though they are some very nice photos, half the fun for me is GETTING the photo. I like the lighting pic, but it is more challenging, and a LOT more rewarding, to capture the REAL THING!! That pic took me almost an hour using different techniques and finally using the "Burst" mode on my camera to capture, and there is nothing faked about it. This was taken in August 2012 at a rest area on I 26 Northbound near Newberry, SC with the storm off to the west. I will be doing some editing work on it, though. I'll be replacing the Werner truck with my Ford custom sleeper rig whenever it is finally finished, and this will be the final touch of the custom. It makes sense, since the truck's already been given lighting murals for the side of the sleeper, and this will be on the back of the sleeper with the Ford's name above it, "Thunderstruck".
  9. I have some almost that old too from when I worked driving a heavy duty wrecker back in 2000 and they still work like day one, and that has been after working under tractor trailers and commonly the ratchets doubling as sledge hammers! I was born and raised on Craftsman tools, my dad worked for Sears for 25 years and had doubles and triples of almost every hand tool made in the 70s, but through the years, I have been still loyal to family tradition, but also finding more and more Kobalt tools slipping into my Craftsman box, just because sometimes it's easier for me to get to Lowe's than it is the nearest Sears store. Oh, and by the way, Kobalt IS made in China.
  10. For me, since Revell is not smart enough to make the Raptor a full detail kit, I'm seeing a kit bash with the Meng F350. A diesel powered Raptor will make a fine sport truck for me, gas engines are for sissies!!!
  11. Actually Dan, there ARE B Trains in the US, just not in your neck of the woods in the DelMarVa! In OH, IN, and NY, but only on the turnpikes, they run double 48 footers and triple 28 footer, and even maybe double 53 footer B Trains. I don't know if they actually consider them true B Trains or not, but they do exist in the US. In the Rocky Mountain area of the country, they also run Rocky Mountain doubles, which are usually 48s with a 28 foot pup behind them.
  12. I would say with the technology available today, reverse engineering the molds shouldn't be that hard I'm sure Round 2 could come up with computing power to do it.
  13. That is correct, Jim. Also, from what I know of the Volvos I've been in, typically the 780s are the more upscale versions, with the "Driver's Lounge" sleeper option like the Italeri kit has with the bottom bunk/table and benches option.
  14. As Hakan said, it's worth what one wants to pay for it. As for seeing them again, AMT did mess up the models and possibly destroyed them for the T600 kit, but mainly the cab was possibly the only victim of the butchery. I know from having the original releases back in the day, everything in the T600 kit was a direct carryover from the later W925 kits with the spring suspension. Engine, frame, even the interior with the twin sticks and the auxiliary transmission were in the T600, just as they were in the W925. The only differences I ever seen in the two kits were the main body pieces.
  15. Actually Jake, look at the one again, it is a 770/780! Typically Jim, the 780 and very similar 770 (not sure what the difference in the 80 and 70 is, maybe trim levels or bigger engine, not sure) are the one with the four bunk windows and the more fleet truck 670 (even though I have seen fleet 770s and 780s as well) has only the two top bunk windows and the solid bottom bunk walls.
  16. These are from the last few months: I found the Camaros and the Manx at a Hobby Lobby in Medina, OH while at work, and just couldn't pass up the less than $15 clearance price marked on them all. Then yesterday, the lady at the post office was nice enough to give me these that I got in a trade with midnightprowler, Lee Rilea.
  17. This should help Jim!
  18. I'm not sure, but I would say maybe in the mid to late 2000 range. I think I got my 870 in 2006 or 07 and it was already on the road a year or two before that.
  19. Casey, I would say that the tires you have are or might just be a mismatched set that got thrown in to make the 10 tires you needed. The larger tires actually look like trailer tires I remember coming in the Great Dane dry van and reefer kits that I had back in the day, while they were under the AMT/Ertl name. Honestly, in my opinion, you can still use the tires, because even though they aren't true "drive" tires with the more aggressive tread, the 8 drives on a 1:1 are usually a little wider than steer tires due to the flatter and more aggressive tread patterns. If you do want matching tires, though, I'm sure I probably have 8 of the thinner tires. As for the axles, without actually seeing them and not having the kit (I'm not a fan of many older cabovers, the only ones that I like are the old Kenworth K100/123, Peterbilt 352 and the International Transstar II) I can't be for sure, but AMT also issued the Chevy Bison and sister (or brother) GMC General conventionals. There may be a possibility that being GM big rigs of the same era, they may contain the same axles.
  20. Unless it is where you can put contact information, like in your profile that takes you to your ebay page. Nice stuff, btw!
  21. You know Roger, that just goes to prove the old saying about ASSUMING!!! It is simple English, and I'm sure anyone who can understand the English language no matter what a computer generated date machine is telling you, the seller CLEARLY STATES it will not deliver until late April or early May!!! IT AIN'T COMIN TIL LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY!!!!! IT AIN'T COMIN TIL LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY!!!!! IT AIN'T COMIN TIL LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY!!!!! IT AIN'T COMIN TIL LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY!!!!! IT AIN'T COMIN TIL LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY!!!!! IT AIN'T COMIN TIL LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY!!!!! IT AIN'T COMIN TIL LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY!!!!! IT AIN'T COMIN TIL LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY!!!!! 22. Now I am trying this post by using the full editor by clicking the "more reply option" and it has at the bottom left corner of the editor box "last auto saved at 3:21:44 AM (wow it's that late! ). Now the question is, how do you retrieve the auto saved text if you do goof up and hit a wrong button, as I have done many times before? it does appear as if the save rate is every 2 minutes because the auto save time now is 3;23:44 AM and just changed to 3:25:44 AM. Also, I have just figured out how the auto save works. You must use the full editor, but instead of where the last auto save time is or was, if you goof and accidentally hit some wrong button mid rant, you go back into the full editor and in that lower left corner you now see "View Auto Saved Content (Today, 03:25 AM) and last auto saved 3:32:47 AM, as I'm writing this, of course the times will not be the same. Hope it helps, and you might lose two minutes you may have to remember what you were saying, but at least not a whole twenty minute post, which is about how long this one has taken with experimenting!
  23. Funny, but I notice that at least in the full editor version if you hit more reply options instead of just the reply box at the bottom of the page, it DOES say that is is saving. Now how true that is, I don't know, nor do I know how you retrieve the autosaved reply.
  24. No Roger, you won't! It's the same listing I have on my watch list, and in the shipping and delivery box at the top, it says that I could have one between Saturday April 5th and Tuesday April 8th, THROUGH EBAY'S SYSTEM! Now, if you use that little wheel in the middle of your mouse and scroll down to the seller's description, (which seems many people who post "I hate ebay this" and "This ebay seller did that" posts don't know how to read) this is taken STRAIGHT FROM THE EBAY PAGE: Condition: New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item (including handmade items). See the seller's listing ... Read more Brand: MENG MODELS Year: 2014 Character Family: FORD TRUCKS MPN: CS-001 Recommended Age Range: 15 & UP AVAILABILITY - PRE-SALE: SHIPPING LATE APRIL - EARLY MAY Scale: 1/24 Hmmmmm... seems pretty straight forward to me, it ain't shipping until late April or early May JUST AS THE SELLER CLEARLY STATES!!! If that's not enough, this is also below that, where the seller AGAIN says it is a PREORDER and WILL NOT SHIP UNTIL LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY!!!! TAKING ADVANCED ORDERS PRE-SALE AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING LATE APRIL - EARLY MAY Sorry, no legitimate complaint there, hobbymaster CLEARLY states TWICE in the listing (not to mention the title of the listing itself is " 1/24 FORD F350 SUPER DUTY CREW CAB PICKUP TRUCK MODEL KIT by MENG- PRE SALE!") that the shipping WILL BE LATE APRIL-EARLY MAY!!!!! You can try all you want to complain, but if I were the seller or someone from ebay, I'd tell you the same thing I just did, and laugh if you wanted to get a refund or "work something out" and probably continue by telling you if you want to pull a "something for nothing" trick like that when it can't be any clearer that the item won't ship til those times, go pull it on someone else!!!!
  25. After I read this, I decided to see if I could find some good pics, and see why I suffer from C.R.S.!!! Both the old series and the new movie were long wheel base like the body. I found a couple of good screen shots, too. The series van: The movie van:
