I'm not really sure what you mean by "bagged". I know in car terms that a "bagged" car is riding on air bags, but big surprise, almost every rig on the road is bagged! Even your basic stock rig has an air ride suspension, and they can be dumped to lower the height of the fifth wheel and rear frame to get under trailers. Now, as for stretched, it really depends on how radical you want it and if you are stretching the sleeper too. If you want a stretched sleeper, here are a couple to get your juices flowing, and they are even Peterbilts! And a couple Kenworths. I do know the first KW and I think the Reliable Carriers transporter have a 230 inch sleeper, which is the industry's largest sleeper. Another thing to keep in mind is wheelbase, whether you are doing a stretched sleeper or not. This is a Ford LTL 9000 that I stretched both the sleeper and frame for, and the sleeper is a 180 inch unit and the wheelbase is scaled to 345 inches, which is measured from the center of the front wheel to the center of the drive hub on the first drive axle. The total length of the frame is 38 scale feet! I also have a few more pics from my collection, stay tuned!

Correct pronunciation of MOEBIUS?
highway replied to jeffs396's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Actually it seems to be what the hip Brits are saying these days! I don't know if you watch the British "Top Gear" on BBC America, but Jeremy Clarkson always is referring to Mercedes as Mercs. I though when I was watching for the first time when he said Merc "Why are they talking about Mercurys??" and the next thing I seen was a Mercedes SLR!! Then the light bulb (dimly ) lit!! -

I don't know, but the southern pronunciation might be Moebius y'all!! Oh, and by the way, I have a southern twang to my voice, so I'm not making fun of southerners! -

Even though you are asking Dave for the correct pronunciation, I'd like to know if the way I've been saying it is correct or not! I have been saying it: Moe-buy-us -

You might want to check Ma's Resin, he casts quite a few old kit tires. If he doesn't have the one's you want, I'm sure he would probably be happy to cast them for you, and he does cast in soft material as well as hard black resin. -

Panel line darkening after paint
highway replied to sjordan2's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Another idea that you might try, even though I don't know if this would work well or not, is try to find a very fine point Sharpie or possibly a colored pencil lighter than the body color and use them to "draw" in the lighter panel lines. I've used a black fine point Sharpie a couple of times to do door lines on diecasts. Also, I would guess if you'd find a close colored pencil, you would probably have to clear the body so the pencil lines would not rub or wear off. -
Oh, and by the way, the areas for that also have exterior and interior 360 views! Here's for the previously mentioned Mustang! http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2010/ford/mustang/photos/360/interior_quicktime_360.html

Another good example is a thread that was just post about 45 minutes ago that asks "Where do I find the factory colors for the 2010 Ford Mustang GT". As of this time, two replies (including mine) were made to the opening post, the first suggesting to see if a dealer may still have the information and mine, where I said "Maybe do a search for it?? I found the info in about 5 seconds.". I don't mind helping someone out, but to Rob's point, sometimes it is just not that hard to help yourself. I type "2010 Ford Mustang colors" into Bing (sorry, I Bing not google ) and found the info on Motor Trend's website. It even has a pic of the car above the color options and if you click the color, it changes it on the car.

It's probably like many other Testors kits, no connection at all with the exception of money. If you just look at many of the Testors branded kits, they are all nothing but another company's kit reboxed in a Testors box. Many of the Testors exotic car kits are either Italeri or Fujimi molds, many of the aircraft kits are also Italeri, and in the late 80s/early 90s Testors also had a few truck kits like a Freightliner FLC and a container trailer that were, you guessed it, Italeri kits. Testors is not the only one who reboxes kits either. Revell in the 90s also reboxed many of Italeri's truck kits in both Revell AG and Revell US boxes. I have a Ford Aeromax 120 that was boxed in a Revell US box, and it is nothing but the Italeri kit with a different set of decals. -

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Testors is just the Lindberg kit reboxed. -
As slow as I build, I might need two or three lifetimes!! I've heard that word before, but have no clue what it means!!!

do wheels make or break your projects
highway replied to Lownslow's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If I distract him, you have to share the loot with me!!! Ok, back on topic, wheels are not a concern to me unless I'm building an exact replica of an actual car. I usually just use the wheels supplied in the kit. The only exception is if I'm heavily kitbashing something, then I just dig through the parts box until I find something I think will look good. One other exception, since I build big rigs, is the wheels on them. I like dressed up trucks and I usually always use the aluminum wheels like these instead of the more utilitarian spoke wheels like these. The tractors are usually not a problem since most tractors have the aluminum wheels in them to begin with, but the trailers usually have the spokes. If I want a nice trailer to go with the nice tractor, that's where I start running into the problem of not enough wheels! On another side not, I thing I personally can't stand, and no offense to the builders who like this style, are the huge idiotic wheels like in "Donk" kits. In my personal opinion, there's no quicker way to mess up a classic 70 Boss 429 Mustang than to stick those huge wheels on it! -
Meditations On Paint Finishes & Colors
highway replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I thought somewhere in another thread here I seen someone mention that there is supposed to be a red in the Colorshift line too, but I haven't seen it yet. I did noticed the last time I was at Lowe's the price was $5.00 cheaper than the $19.and change I paid originally, I wonder if the price drop is thanks to Autozone starting to carry it now too! -

Was kinda wondering that myself, especially since the colors I used are currently available.
