  1. Don't forget the tractor trailer crowd, too, one f the WIP's in his shop is an old International Cabover tractor;
  2. Just remember Harry, beauty is in the eye of the beerholder!!!!
  3. What, did you want to make sure we knew what you were replying to!?!? Or, did you fall asleep on the "post" button!?!?
  4. Why sure there's still room, and if not we'll knock the tree down on the back 40 and make room!! I'll get the list updated soon! Nice work so far on the Cornflake, Dave. Also, just to let all you gearjammers know, if I"m slow at updating the entry list or I happen to miss (read FORGET!) adding your entry to the list or an entry pic you have posted, let me know either here or by PM. All the official entries that I have seen the pics of are marked by a star ( * ) beside the truck decription in the list on the first page. I started a new job today after being unemployed today, so I will be working 12 hours a day, and I'm escorting natural gas drilling trucks on the little country roads in this area to and from drill sites that are popping up all over the area drilling for natural gas in the Marcelles shale under the region.
  5. I agree 110%! I bought this Freightliner Classic XL hood conversion from Eric, and it requires very little, if any cleanup, and looks as good as a plastic molded piece. I also bought these fenders and frame mounted toolboxes from Eric for my Ford LTL 9000 Custom I'm building (the air cleaners are for another project) and they are also great pieces. And here are the fenders painted and mounted on the truck. They are very affordable and would be a great starting point to start working with new media Bob.
  6. Maybe we might get lucky and get those from Moebius. I don't think they would have to make too many new molds to modify the Lonestar into a Prostar.
  7. Give me a new Freightliner Coronado or a Freightliner Classic XL with a Series 60 Detroit and I'll be happy! Oh, and some modern trailers too!
  8. Michael, they did that just not too long ago, maybe within the past two years or so. Look under the cat!
  9. If I remember correctly Skip, and that's asking a lot since the last time I built the 1/16 scale kit was when I first started building a little over 25 years ago, but keeping with the vintage NASCAR theme Mark has mentioned, I also think it has a full race car rollcage. I think it also had the NASCAR type Goodyear Blue Streak Stock Car Special tires with very little tread detail instead of a proper street tire. It is more or less what Mark said, you'll end up with a nice curbside General with a vintage NASCAR underneath. Another way to look at it is you would have the General Lee if it actually WAS a race car.
  10. Not really, some but not all of the "look at me, but don't tell me what's wrong" type build General Lees. Of course it doesn't mean somenody couldn't use a General Lee as their first attempt at a General Lee and build it their way!
  11. Dang it Skip, I just about choke to death laughing!!!
  12. Well, I'm sure I'll be doing that too!! And make sure I get your truck number, I'll be sure to get in your way when you're passing through!! Yeah, but now I wish I would have worked a little harder on models earlier this summer, I barely touched any and now I'm going to be working 12 hour days! Hopefully I can at least get the big Ford done for there, I might actually be able to afford to go now!!
  13. What did I get today??? A NEW JOB!!!! After being out of work for over 2 years, I start tomorrow driving a pilot car, and for those of you who aren't up on trucking, that is the escort vehicle that goes in front of oversized loads. Marcelles shale natural gas drilling is starting to become a really big thing around this area, and I'm going to be escorting the drilling trucks back and forth our tiny little country roads to and from the drill rigs.
  14. Uh, is there an echo in here!?!? And I see my anti eye hat must not be working, I'm STILL getting CREEPED OUT!!!!
  15. Well, since I hear quite often from my fiancee that she "feels like we live in a hobby shop", I guess I have one in my living room!! Seriously though, I doesn't matter where it's located to me, or if it is a stand alone store, in a strip mall, or in a large mall, because at one time there were all of those in this area and I went to them all. Of the three that are left, two are stand alones and one is in a small strip mall, and all three know me by my first name. By the way Harry, I don't agree with the "internet" option for a hobby shop. I'm not saying I haven't bought things from the net, mainly older kits from ebay and of course through trading here and other forums, but I would rather go to the LHS and buy new kits. Call me old fashioned, but I would much rather keep my local shops in business rather than some online retailer that just sees me as another credit card number. I have a good relationship with all the shop owners and enjoy chatting with them when I go there, and if I have more kits I want than money, they will hold them until I can pay for them. Show me an online retailer that will do that for a regular customer!!
  16. Tony, if you mean how to get into your PMs, go up to the top of the screen and click on your name, then click where it says "Personal Messenger", and that takes you to your PMs, old and new. Also, for a new message, up to the left of your name you will see an envelope, and it will have a red box lit up with a number if you have a new PM. I think you can also get to your old PMs that way too.
  17. Go into your settings and recheck the boxes to receive them. I was having the same problem after the "improvements" and the email notifications were switched off due to the change.
  18. Even though I don't usually watch, or for that matter respond, to lowrider builds (sorry, just not that big into lowriders), I have to say I really like what you have done to the interior so far James! The white and blue of the interior just screams "LOOK AT ME"!! Oh, and I have to know, where did you get that awesome steering wheel??
  19. Talk about blowing things out of proportion, it's not that you can't STILL use the emotions, Gregg just does NOT want an emotion smiley ONLY in the post!
  20. I think I'm going to call the Alaska State Troopers, because you done STOLE that truck!!! :o
  21. You must not have seen that he also posted it here in the Under Glass section. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46703
  22. Chris, I don't know if this would be an option or not, but looking at pics of it on ebay, you might be able to get a clear windshield from the Revell 62 Impala. It looks like it has the same general shape as the Street Fighter's windshield, but the only other problem might be the difference in scales between the 1/24 scale of the Street Fighter and the 1/25 scale of the 62 Impala. Maybe there is someone out here that just happens to have both kits and verify whether this option would work or not.
  23. It just too "fake" to me, I have to say model.
