Update on interior -- paint --- engine: Here are the subsequent update photos on this car: The interior is stock from the kit -- painted and a scratch built floor shifter added (no quadrant --- you can't see it anyway!!!!) The engine --- detailed with some parts box items added to the basic kit flat head --- no sense in getting carried away!!! I think it looks pretty good as it sits --- Now for some paint --- this is Tamiya Black straight from the can --- Laid down in several mist coats with 15 minutes between and a final wet coat --- No rubbing --- shinny as is --- You can see the scratch built dual exhaust extensions in this shot -- kit beauty rings and hub caps suffice again ---- Next time I will add some BMF work to the body --- I had to repaint a section of the hood that had a few blows in it so when that cures I will add the BMF pics to this thread ---- Later Bill

I have several of these kits in my collection and it has always been favorite of mine --- (I reviewed this kit last year --- here is the link to that review ---) http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=76440&hl=duntov This is a pretty standard build with a mild rake (kit drop-axle is sufficient for this one)--- detailed kit flat-head--- new dual exhaust system from 3/32 styrene tube --- color will be black --- progress to date is shown below --- Stance with the kit supplied drop axle and Modelhaus #480 wide whites --- Door details --- Scratch built handle --- from flattened, curved and polished aluminum .032 rod --- I retained the cast on handle boss and drilled a hole in the center for the new handles--- Chassis with new exhaust -- and added header pipes fused to frame sides--- New Splash plates, NBW's and retainer strips --- the header pipes fit flush against the cast on kit exhaust header on the engine -- no glue or tabs used --- they tuck in out of sight!!! Engine, interior and first paint shots in the next update --- Regards Bill (Duntov)

First 29' rat rod
Duntov replied to frozono's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I really like this overall but really have to mention the seats --- These have popped up in kits many times over the years but never seemed to get used much --- Very nice to see you use them and make them so realistic with some subtle paint detail and weathering --- NICE WORK!!! -

I like this one a lot --- the seats and the work on the bed are both excellent --- but overall the thing that sets this one apart is that it looks "believable"!!! Nice work! Regards Bill (Duntov) -
I will be watching this one --- always wished they would do the Grand Sports --- Here is a shot of my 1:1 2012 GS (6 speed car)---- One of the best balanced and fastest Corvettes I have ever owned!!! Regards Bill (Duntov)

Revell Pre-Finished Series 2014 Corvette Stingray
Duntov replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
This looks very similar to the old Jada 2006 (?) Z06 car --- Especially the chassis pan and the disc brake parts ---- -
Very nice-- I think it is important to note: this is what was originally intended by AMT for these very simple and now classic kits --- (AND YES --- you can customize - chop - cut - channel - putty - glue - paint and otherwise bastardize the living daylights out of these kits until you have to tell us what exactly they started out as in the first place --- I get that but -----) This is simply PURE CLASS!!! Regards Bill (Duntov)

I like this a lot --- the build is clean and very convincing and the wheels and tires just set it off big time --- GREAT JOB!!!
-
Interesting build --- a Mini-Cooper with five lug wheels--- might be more than a bit scary to pull up next to this at a stop light --- I mean besides the five lug wheels "WHAT ELSE" might be under the skin!!!???? I like it --- glad you did not sell it --- good addition to your collection!!!

Try going directly to the source --- here is the link for Olfa --- they have a ton of good stuff and you should be able to order directly --- one of the circle cutters is about $10 --- pretty reasonable --- I may need to get one and try this !!! http://www.olfa.com/Default.aspx

Hi Mike---that's kinda what I thought --- this stuff is pretty thin too --- almost too thin for some applications but it is pretty stuff ---the sheets are small as well --

I have been using this stuff from Detail Master --- it is expensive and fragile but it is really nice!!
