  11. I really like the Corvettes ---but then again I am partial to them for a few 1:1 reasons!!! I have all of the annual kits as yet unbuilt --- your work is a great inspiration--- Some fantastic work !!! Regards Bill (Duntov)
  12. HI: I started this at Thanksgiving as a "quick build" -- you know how that goes! This is a basic build up of the venerable old AMT '40 Ford Kit. (The '83 re-issue): I added a new dual exhaust system from Evergreen styrene tube, Detailed the kit flat head, Added scale sized windshield wipers from an HO scale railroad diesel engine detail photo etch set (Gold Medal Models), New door handles from aluminum rod, License plates from wine bottle tin, License decals and side view mirror from the Galaxie Chevy kit, Wide whites from the Modelhaus --- and Tamiya gloss black paint. Interior is stock except for the floor shift. This is the link to the build: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=96624 Hope you enjoy this as much I did building it! Regards Bill (Duntov)
  13. This is easily my favorite set of 2014 builds ---- I really like the subject matter vs. what we usually see --- Don't get me wrong I like all the cars on the site and I appreciate the work that goes into them --- It's just that it is really neat to see some classic cars like this at this level of craftsmanship --- thanks Harry!!!
  14. The Blue/rust '50 Olds is especially nice!!!
  15. I like the 36 Ford and the 41 Plymouth ---!!

  20. Nice --- I like the Flat Motor --- simple and VERY effective!
  21. Nice work --- looks good so far!!!
  22. I have a number of really "expensive" kits in my storage room --- many are comprised of well over 200 parts --- NONE and I mean NONE of them even come close to the level of detail, quality and craftsmanship displayed here!!!! This is truly a work of art!!!!
  23. Looks good so far --- It is neat when the old AMT kits get used for projects (re-issue noted) ---
  24. Here is an update on the BMF work -- I got the hood repaired and finished the BMF work -- with one small repair still to be done -- there is a minor mis-registration on the drivers side hood to cowl area in the BMF -- See results below: Next are a few small detail areas --- side view mirror, wind wings, wipers, door handles and windshield pillar and license plate--- I should wrap it up after those are installed--- (I removed the cast on wipers and will add some photo etched pieces from my collection of HO scale railroad diesel locomotive details --- should be interesting) --- One additional tip =====when working with black cars --- I use a .005 Micron pen in black to repair fine pin holes and miniature scratches in black paint. This is good for detailing as well --- they also come in red and blue. Conversely, I use a 000 brush and silver paint from a DecoColor calligraphy pen to touch up chrome and BMF dings ----shake the pen and press the tip on some masking tape to extract some paint--- dip the brush in it to repair sprue marks and dings in the BMF.
  25. Thanks for the comment --- I have built the Revell kit once and have two more in my collection to be built --- I like them OK but I am with you --- I have enjoyed building this AMT version over the years (I built one when it first came out!!! --- ages me a bit!!)-----and I have several variants in my display case --- all are favorites -- I find that with the AMT kit a little "slight of hand" goes a long way---- I got my Revell build up out of the case last week to do a comparison --- and dropped it!!! So now it is a rescue case!
