  4. RMR has really good prices and some very unusual subjects. For the price, they are great. They have some of the cheapest resin around. However, with the price comes a drop in quality over other resin pieces. The bodies I have bought have a rather poor resin quality, many pinholes in places that are hard to fix, and lumpy casting on some parts. I have chosen to buy from them in spite of this because of their good prices and I like the subjects they have. I'm just saying be ready for what I would consider in my experience to be sub-parr casting. It is in line with the price though. STewart
  5. Nice job. The paint looks great. STewart
  6. Thanks cliffo. I was planning on using a testors metallizer paint. I have them and they are amazing. I was going to use magnesium but I will have to experiment a little before I find out the right color. Might have to mix my own color as well. Thanks for the tip. STewart
  7. I have the RMR power wagon resin kit. It is not very good quality and not worth 40 bucks unless you really want to make one, which I did. The quality is very poor though and you can count on not using several of the kit parts. STewart
  8. Picture of the actual car. STewart
  9. I have been reading some of the threads going on about doing the basics well before trying to scratchbuild, use aftermarket, etc. They made me realize that I have been rushing my builds and not taking the time they need to make them look good. I have been scratchbuilding but my builds are not high enough quality. I have been content with making them so-so not great. So I decided to do something simpler to try and improve probably the worst part of my builds: bodywork and paint. This will not have a huge amount of scratchbuilding though it will have a little. It will have a slight amount of body work but I will be mostly focusing on good paint. This will be somewhat of a replica of the Fast and Furious "Hammer" roadrunner. It will have a few twists of my own in it as well. I started it a while ago and it went into the box. The engine is painted and almost ready to go. I will be using a ross gibson 383 sonoramic commando. I bought two pro chargers from shucky to fit to the engine. The car will have a rear four-link. Here is the rear axle. I will be using Pegasus chrome vantage wheels. The centers are in the chrome-removing solution after which they will be painted metallic black. I started the bodywork. I filled in the turn signals, shaved the wheel flares, filled in the air grabber hole in the hood, and opened up the inductions scoop in the hood. To fit the wheels, I tubbed the rear by slicing out the back section of the wheel arch and moving it back. I am trying to improve my build quality so if you have any suggestions please comment. 17. I finally complete this tonight after having on the bench for a while. I am getting a little better at details and such but still need to work on overall finish. My paint jobs aren't the greatest. This is from an AMT Red ram van. It has a 6.4 Hemi in it that I modified from a 6.1. I also made a beefier tranny with an oil pan for it as well as scratching an oil pan for the engine. I used resin air filters and scratchbuilt the radiator with a Detail master electric fan though it is unfortunately not very visible. I used inner fender from the parts box as well as a resin optima battery. I used a rear axle from a Revell Ford F-350 and truck arms from an AMT nascar kit. I scratchbuilt air bags for the rear suspension. The exhaust is made from 0.125" solder with machined aluminum tips. For the front I used parts box a-arms and shocks. The wheels are fujimi. The interior has leopard skin upholstery, an MAS vortex steering wheel, MCG gauge cluster and auxiliary gauges, Revell '06 Charger seats, and is scratchbuilt from behind the cab. All the car parts came from the parts box. I opened the doors, removed all the molding, rolled the rear and used scratchbuilt "bumperettes."The grille is a modified kit piece with a metal mesh. Decals are from the kit. STewart
  18. Complete!!! Just have to do the trailer now. Here are the pics of the front chassis. The van still needs a few odds and ends like rear lights and a steering setup but it is almost completely done. Here is a pic of it. The rest are in under glass STewart
