Kinda like watching a Venus Flytrap ensnare the occasional clueless bug, Isn't it?!?

Definitely different... most definitely sick! I like it!

For anyone in the Muncie, IN area, we meet on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00pm at Toys Forever Models and Hobbies which is located at 300 S. Walnut St. Downtown Muncie. We're pretty informal, we usually have a build theme for each meeting, there are no dues, and we pretty much just sit around and gab about the hobby for a few hours, maybe see what we can do to empty Brandons shelves for him. Most of our members are car and truck builders but there are several guys who build aircraft, armor and ships and a couple of Sci-Fi modelers added for flavor. We don't care what you build, just that you build! we are always looking forward to seeing new faces at our meetings.

Beautiful paint job! I love the older multicolor semi paint schemes. You did this one justice! I'm looking forward to seeing this one finished. -
Yep! Gonna have to add a couple of these to the collection as well! Absolutely beautiful! I gotta have one stock (yeah, call me weird) and I see a sweet classic low-rider/custom in the works here too... Once again, Well done Moebius! You are bound and determined to make me owe my LHS more than my annual income!

I want everyone here to take a look at those people around them, family and friends and be thankful that you have them and that they have you. And PLEASE, tell them how you feel.... You may not get a second chance. I want Mom back. That's what I want this year. She shook off this mortal coil August 20 and this will be a very rough holiday season for me and my family... They say the first one's the hardest... I hope their right, 'cause I may just imitate a bear and sleep through Christmas this year rather than face it... I'm sorry if this dampens any spirits, but, here it is... You asked. May Peace and Love be with all of you, this season. Chris

Models Or Toys?
Wagoneer81 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i like 'playing' with what I build... That's why I'm also a model railroader... And that's why I love dioramas. But let someone unfamilliar and unaccustomed to the hobby accuse me of 'playing with toys'... If I'm at home, I usually respond by pulling out a small 1/350 resin destroyer kit and ask them if they're man or woman enough to pony up the 150+ bucks to buy this 'Toy' and the 40+ hours required to build it properly... That usually gets their undivided attention and, I am then able to go into more detail as to what this hobby actually entails! If I'm not at home, I have several good model pics on my phone... I have used a couple of my airplane models as props (no pun here ) to explain some different dogfight moves to people, does that count? -
STAR FIRE! ...( 59 Impala Flying Car) Update: 3-29-12

Looks like something seen in the airlanes of Coruscant in the Star Wars Prequels... There were some really neat airspeeder designs in those movies... -
EYECANDY THURSDAY
Wagoneer81 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, the custom pinstripe job at 0:45 was inspiration enough for me... Where can I get a model of that?!? Seriously, cool cars, neat video, thanks for sharing! -

STYRENE WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME (S.W.S)
Wagoneer81 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Carpool! You aren't the only modeler what lives in the Hoosier state... Dr. Cranky, As science has yet to produce a styrene-scented or flavored Methodone, I've been loathe to face styrene withdrawl on my own... I went several weeks here recently without building, because of a neck (disk) injury that's caused my right hand to lose much of its dexterity and feeling. Basically, it has all the nimbleness and feeling of a benchvise! I went three weeks away from the desk and 'bout went out of me everlovin' mind! I found, through necessity, if I keep my right thumbnail a little longer than usual, I can hold small parts between it and my middle finger and sand or trim or do whatever I need to them. I can hold them, I just can't feel them... If I'm careful and keep a close eye on where my rt. hand is and what it's doing, I'm ok... Haven't cut myself yet... Lucky for me I'm a lefty. My Doc knows what's up, we're just waiting for a specialist that takes my type of insurance... Then we'll get it fixed. -
BIG Cat on a lowboy!
Wagoneer81 replied to Ben's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks! Although, the little dappled fellow on the left has an appetite for anything and everything that gets dropped on the floor, including plastic parts, decal sheets paper towels... If it hits the floor, he has to check its 'edibility factor'... -
A MOST POST-APOCALYPSE 2012 TO YOU TOO
Wagoneer81 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sounds like fun, Doc! I may just have to come up with something for this... I've always wanted to try a Post-Apoc style build... -
Build count for 2011
Wagoneer81 replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This wasn't my greatest year, what with medical problems, moving and losing Mom in August... I think my final tally is : 5- 1/72 scale aircraft 1- 1/72 scale motorcycle 2- 1/25 scale cars 1- 1/350 scale Minicraft Titanic... -
BIG Cat on a lowboy!
Wagoneer81 replied to Ben's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Years ago, I had an N-scale train layout in the garage. I was working on it one day, went in the house, forgetting to close the door and came out about 20 minutes later to find the neighbors large, orange tabby curled up ASLEEP in the middle of the lake in the valley... His buddy, the little gray, was sprawled out across the tracks at the coalmine, halfway up the mountain... I went back in the house and let them sleep... I figured if I scared them, the damage would be pretty significant... As it was, I only had to clean some stray fur off of the surrounding trees... I don't have a cat and thankfully, these two vertically-challenged varmits aren't equipped to get up on and mess with the workbench or anything on the shelves... -
Real or Model #180 FINISHED!

I think it's REAL. -
Basic bare-bones '59, drag version... The engine came out of a box of parts that was given to me years ago...

Can I see some crazy Drivetrain swaps?!
Wagoneer81 replied to Jesse D's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Is this crazy enough? 351 Cleveland, fuel injected with a belt driven supercharger... Shoehorned into an '87 T-bird. I've done a little more since this pic was taken, the fuelrails have been added and the distributor has been wired. Unfortunately, this project, like so many others was packed away when I moved and, for the time being, is in storage... -
I've thought about it... Lord knows I have a good reference source sittng in the back drive...lol! Gray07, I emailed Blue Oval Resins about this... we shall see what we shall see... I checked their site and saw several nice '73-'79's... I can't believe that no manufacturers or casters have popped one of these... I may just have to step up... And, while I was at it, I emailed Round2 expressing my interest at seeing the reissue of the '60 model Ford and any of the '61-'63 Unibody trucks...
