  1. ... owned by Larry Hedrick and driven by Dick Trickle
  2. Another gorgeous build Bruce ............. you do such beautiful work
  3. The decals came from SLIXX and they're still available. Don't have any "underneath" shots, but I'll se what I can do (weather permitting). Thanks for the nice comments.
  4. ..... Kelly Chadwick was a racer and high school teacher form Floydada, Texas .......... a small farming community about 75 miles southeast of my hometown of Amarillo (he also built Chevrolet racing engines including the one in my '61 Corvette) ............ he is more known for his Camaro and Vega funny cars than he is for this one, but it was his start into big time match racing His first match racer was a non-altered wheelbase '65 Chevelle powered by a big block 427 Chrvrolet engine
  5. ..... the 2000 Kelloggs Corn Flakes Monte Carlo ............. the only "Corn Flakes" car not to have an image of Cornelius the Rooster anywhere on it .............. owned by Rick Hendrick and driven by Terry Labonte
  6. Dale Earnhardt Dick Trickle Dave Marcis Ken Schrader
  7. Jeff Gordon Mike Wallace Ted Musgrave Wally Dallenbach Jr.
  8. Absolutely beautiful build Bruce .............. but that's to be expected in all your builds B)
  9. Thanks for catching my "fat finger" ....... Castronovo indeed won in '71, this car won in '72 ........... have corrected the original post Yes, these are Slixx decals ........... coated them twice with Testors Decal Bonder and had no problems at all with them .............. only thing is that the bonder creates one entire sheet and you must trim each item out separately like on a Fred Cady sheet ............. but it works great
  10. Very nice "Square Bird" ............. beautiful work
  11. It's a Competition Resins Mustang body sitting on a Revell ckassis
  12. It's a 1/25th scale
  13. Kevin Doheny and Larry Fullerton's gorgeous Mustang funny car ............. winner of the 1972 NHRA World Finals at Amarillo, Texas (my home town) ............ the car had a "Trojan Horse" story during the World Finals .................. First off, Kevin Doheny is from the oil rich Doheny family (Doheny Drive in Beverly Hills is named after them) and Larry Fullerton's uncle is Dale Drake (of Meyer-Drake-Offenhauser fame) ............ so this car was not under funded (which could be seen by the $10,000 mural of the Trojan Horse by Kenny Youngblood in the rear window area) ............. but it was pretty much unknown outside of California ............. they towed the car to Amarillo on an open trailer behind a shabby '66 Ford pickup ............ and stayed at Terry LeGate's house (right down the street from my house) claiming they didn't have enough money to stay at a hotel or motel ............. they played the "Trojan Horse" routine to the hilt ............ then on Sunday they busted the competition and won the whole thing rather convincingly .............. what a hoot, and a real "Trojan Horse" scenario
  14. ..... owned by Rick Hendrick and driven by Terry Labonte
  15. ....... owned by David Reher and Buddy Morrison and driven by Bruce Allen
  16. The Firebird body is from Competition Resins, as is the Crower injector and scoop. The chassis is from the Revell Spy vs Spy funny car kit. The paint is a 50/50 mix of Testors French Blue and Classic White enamels, and the decals came from Slixx. Minor modifications had to be made to the underbody "tin" to allow the body to drop down into the proper position.
  17. The Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats Monte Carlo owned by Rick Hendrick and driven by Terry Labonte
  18. Yep, and the Pisano & Matsubara '70 Camaro also There wasn't a car built that Sush couldn't destroy in a heartbeat
  19. The build has a Comp Resins Corvair body sitting on a slightly modified Polar Lights chassis. The engine is a Ross Gibson "Hemi Hunter" big block Chevrolet. The paint is Cobracolors Candy Wild Cherry over a Cobracolors Glitter Gold Metallic base (unfortunately these paints are no longer available ......... Leon, where are you??), and the decals came from Slixx (and they're still available)
  20. .... The '69 Corvair flopper owned by Joe and Frank Pisano and driven (and destroyed) by the original "Kamikaze Kid", Sush Matsubara
  21. ..... a "cousin" to my War Eagle Firebird, this is John Keeling and Jerry Clayton's "California Charger" Firebird driven by Neil Leffler
  22. Another gorgeous build from your hands Mark ............... great build B)
  23. Both are outstanding ............ tell her she does beautiful work
