..... leaves a lot to be desired ............. I chose an AMT 1940 Ford kit that I had been dragging around for nearly 40 years ............... the molded trim was so light as to cause issues with the bare metal foil (along with my lack of expertise) so there's no trim around the windows .............. oh well, here it is, a box stock 1940 Ford Deluxe sedan with Testor's gray and black paints
..... Jim Green's NHRA Champion funny car ............. the Green Elephant .................Near box stock build with Cobracolors paint and Slixx decals
Not much to say about the "details" ............. pretty much a box stock build ................... Revell Generic Charger chassis and drive train ............. Competition Resins Cuda body, interior tin, & slicks ............... Testors French Blue Enamel and Slixx decals
The paint and decals for this build are a little complicated ............. after priming, the blue is the first color to be applied and it is masked off after drying ................ the orange is then applied .............. the first decals laid down are the yellow stripes which circle the body ............... then the black "tiger stripes" are applied .............. the stripes are longer than necessary so they cam be trimmed (with an extremely sharp scalpel blade) at the yellow line .............. after the stripes have been installed and have dried fully, the rest of the normal Nascar numbers and contingencies are applied
Takes a little extra time, but I think the results are worth the effort ......... by the way, those decals came from SLIXX
.... the MW Windows Lumina run out of the Labonte Racing shop in Trinity, North Carolina ........... this Busch car was a multiple time winner at Watkins Glen
