  1. Very nice build Mark (even if it IS a Ford ) ......... your talents are showing B)
  2. ... 99% box stock build from an AMT Don Garlits kit ..... had to replace the kit's Crower 8-port injector with an Enderle "Bugcatcher" .... Hazen never used a Crower

  4. ... now on to a second "Panic" .......... a totally box stock version of Gary Hazen's orange and white top fuel dragster
  5. ... this is about the best I can do in replicating Gary Hazen's "Panic" AA/FA ......... had major problems with the ten year old Slixx decals, but all in all it turned out OK Willie Borsch chassis and basic engine, Comp Resins body, Moon valve covers, and front tires & wheels, magneto and plug boots by Pro Tech, Testors classic white lacquer, and Slixx decals
  6. Here's a picture of the car I'm trying to replicate
  7. ... after the third trip to the purple pond, I think I finally may have found my painting issue .......... something must have changed in the Krylon primer formula that the hobby lacquers (Testors and Tamiya) just don't like ........... after going into the Castrol Super Clean, the body was totally stripped of all primer with a Paasche Air-Eraser ........... then came two coats of Duplicolor Lacquer Primer and then two coats of Testors Classic White Lacquer The rear axle has been shortened, all tires and wheels have been glued on, the wheelie bar stabilizer rod has been installed, and the Simpson decals have been placed on the shoulder harness straps Now we need body decals, chute pack and mount, chrome on the firewall, and throttle linkage and we're pretty much done with this beast
  8. Slixx has them ......... better hurry though, I'm sure they're going fast
  9. ... being built for a community build project on another forum .... my attempt at replicating Gary Hazen's "Panic" AA/FA
  10. Yes Kirk, those old kits were a mass of fit issues ......... engine compartment, roll cage, rear suspension ......... they were very susceptible to warpage when coming out of the dies
