  1. The blue one is a stock family sedan. Can do a manstreamer. Just has the 426 wedge and larger tires. No big deal. Those things can be changed easily.
  2. The box art for the 65 Dodge A990 plainly depicts a super stock build. In my opinion, no deception there. Not sure why one would beleive that a mainstreamer or family 2 door sedan can be built from this kit. Moebius never stated or eluded that a factory stock version could be built.
  3. Maybe in your market you have a large group of hardcore drag/gasser builders. In my post I only was just speaking of a builder doing a shelf build and not building it as a slotcar setup. Slot car building and racing is another market. Don't get me wrong, I love the awb kits. I have 3 Moebius awb Coronet kits coming my way. I go to different model car contest events throughout the year; you just don't see drag/gasser cars in huge quantities in comparison to street stock or mainstreamer models.
  4. I think in general that the overall appeal to the masses of the awb Coronet kit and other awb kits are a lot less than the mainstreamer kits ie; 63 Nova wagon, 65 Coronet stock sedan kits etc. I would say the appeal of the race only and awb kits of whatever car subject it is would be for the drag car builders which is a very small niche. More builders would rather have a stock street car over non stock race version of that subject. This seems to be illustrated well by Moebius with their low production number of drag car subjects. Someone mentioned only 6000 of the awb 65 Coronet kits produced. I would gather Moebius did this knowing a small number of builders would buy the kit.
  5. I think what's under the tarp is a 68-70 Charger. Can tell by how far the rear roof sides extend back to the rear part of the quarter panels. Maybe a re-release of the MPC 68-70 Charger annuals?
  6. Will be working on a 1/72 Heinkel H111 bomber and planning to use a better detailed aftermarket tire/wheel assemblies. There is the True Details and Res Kits brands. Any recommendations?
  7. Those are the 440 model taillights. Look much better than the Coronet 500 taillights.
  8. Reading through the different responses; looks like some are wondering what Atomic's main vision is in the model car kit industry. They own the rights to the Johan name. Is their vision to clone past Johan kits ie, 67-69 Ambassador, 69 Roadrunner, 62 F-85, 68 Cadillac, etc ? I don't have the answer to that. I'm not sure either. Has Atomic in some shape, way or form indicated they will be resurrecting some of these oldies from back in the day? I don't know if anyone has asked Atomic if this is what they are planning. Maybe Atomic can give us some insight to indicate that this is their intention.
  9. So what does Okey actually own if it's the not the rights to Johan? He bought the remains of Johan , but that did not include the rights to the Johan name? How is he able to sell Johan parts without ownerships of the Johan name? Was it a deal where he just bought a bunch of parts and is just reselling them like a vendor at a swap meet? This is the piece of the puzzle that is missing.
  10. Not Monogram; I beleive Salvinos will be doing a Superbird, but Nascar version. A while back they showed the 3D file renderings.
  11. Since we have the re-released MPC 68 Coronet kit is there anyone casting/3D printing a correct plain front grill and taillight panel to turn the 68 Coronet R/T into a 68 Superbee?
  12. Just realized my mistake. I saw on the margin "Resin Wish List" but did not note it was a the truck section. Thanks for pointing that out.
  13. This is the correct section. Hopefully someone comes out with the correct front grill and tail panel parts to turn the MPC 68 Coronet into a Superbee.
  14. Since the MPC 68 Coronet R/T kit has been re released. How about a correct plain front grill and tail panel to a do 68 Superbee?
  15. Is this when the distributers start receiving the kits or when the kits arrive in the U.S.?
  16. Will Moebius be doing any other versions of the 65 awb Coronet kit ie; Grand Spaulding Dodge, Dick Landy, Hodges Dodges, etc?
  17. Anyone know how many 65 Coronet awb kits Moebius will be producing?
  18. Considering that the awb 63 Tempest has been reissued; my gut feeling is that we will be seeing the 63 Tempest in stock form in the future. Chances are we will see it in the form as an AMT Craftsman kit like the recently released Chevelle and 64 Olds Cutlass kits.
  19. I wonder if HPI Guy has built the long awaited Moebius 65 Coronet AWB car?
  20. Adding more predictions for 2025: MPC Mission Impossible 69 Coronet convertible MPC 69 Coronet hardtop kit MPC 72/73 Dodge pickup MPC 68 Hurst Hemi Under Glass kit
  21. All three kits will be coming out.
  22. As someone stated previously, don't put any laquer paint over enamel. Laquer paint has solvents that will attack the enamel base and lift it. Do a laquer base, then topcoat with a clear enamel. The enamel will not attack and lift the laquer base.
  23. The 67 Galaxie would do well. Steve G stated on one of the recent topics that more builders have been requesting 67 Galaxie kit over other subjects. Who knows how it will play out. For all we know it's probably under developement as we speak.
  24. JB Weld will not hold. You need to get someone to tig weld that back on or as stated by someone else, get another case. Rock Auto has no Datsun listing but there is Nissan which owns Datsun. Here is a link for alternators if that helps. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,1971,521+pickup,1.6l+l4,1212321,electrical,alternator+/+generator,2412
