Thoughts and prayers needed for New Zealand
glenn replied to glenn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
113 are now confirmed dead and identified, still a few hundred missing but there is no hope for them to still be alive, its now recovery instead of rescue, lets hope some are still hanging on in the rubble. -
definately the last pic, will be watching this one.

Thoughts and prayers are needed for my home country which was hit by an earthquake today in the South Island's Christchurch city at lunchtime,65 are confirmed dead so far which will likely rise quite abit once search and rescue can get in there, they are just recovering from a big earthquake that hit last september, this time round the already weakened buildings couldnt take the second one.

it looks so good in the primer i vote for some type of matte finish -
It's really starting to look the part now,the side skirts make a huge difference to the look of the car and the decals compliment the flames quite well, cant wait to see it finished
-
can we buy direct from you from here,or do you only sell through ebay?,will definately order from you when i nedd to do some flames.
-
very nicely done, where do you source scale motorsport stuff from in oz?
-
the new body mods really tie it all in,well done.
-
I think you have done pretty well, you already know what you feel you need to work on so can't wait to see more of your work,my biggest mistake is trying to do too much,im only on my 3rd ever build and it's hard not to try out all the wonderful tips you see on this forum.

Yeh it's becoming a problem, snakes everywhere and even sharks sighted in the flood waters around brisbane, one guy yesterday died in brisbane after walking in the flood waters and he got sucked into a storm drain so still many dangers even though the water levels are starting to drop Also on the brisbane river is a iconic concrete walkway which broke off and started floating down the river towards motorway bridges it was a piece weighing 300 tonne so could have been big trouble but was safely manouvered out the way by a tug boat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_OYKYOvSHk to put the floods in perspective 4x the land mass of New Zealand is under water, madness. -

as of this morning our time 12 are dead and 74 now missing, the latest deaths were a mom and two kids clinging to their car and when a rescue worker got to them the 13yr old son who doesn't know how to swim asked for his younger brother to be saved first and when they got back for him and his mom they had been swept away, very sad indeed, most of brisbane is now under about 6ft of water -

I'm on the sunshine coast which is 1 hr north of brisbane which is getting hit now and we have been hit with minor flooding but nothing like towoomba,it's hard watching so many peoples homes get wrecked in a matter of minutes,no time for them to save anything, the last i heard was 10 confirmed dead and about 67 odd missing -
another amazing project of yours to follow, this is some nice chassis work.
-
wow great work, the paint looks so deep you got that spot on,keep up the great work
-
some nice detail work there but I know that you know the engine setup is wrong but I will point out the turbo system is wrong incase you did think its right, you have the outlet of the turbo(compressor side)going straight into the inlet manifold which is ok but you have an intercooler set up which is supposed to have the outlet pipe from the turbo run through the intercooler and then into the inlet manifold, where you have the pipes running into the intercooler is where you should be mounting the air filters, great work otherwise
-
great work, the mustang looks awesome with that stance.
-
is robert your brother or is chris? looks like a good start to a nice project.

im in the same situation as no where local has stuff like this and I would rather not get stuff online,I dropped into plastics supply company that bends up perspex and over the counter sales etc and I managed to score a full stock sheet(1000x1500) of styrene for $10 where as online shops here want $20 for a small sheet the size of a birthday card so if you can find a company that sells over the counter perspex etc as they will surely have styrene and other plastics that they would normally sell for sign making etc, hope that helps.

wow this has really come to life now that it's a roller, the more I see of this the more I want to try this kind of build for my self one day, great work.

this is coming along nicely, well done.Is it 1/25 scale? what size brass tube/rod are you using? -
Wow that chassis is really coming along,do you plan on painting the chassis or will you polish it up? Again great work,I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying that I appreciate all the hard work you put into your models so we can look them over and see how they come together.
-
how did you form your trans tunnel? I have tried a few times now but can't get it as smooth as your one.
