  1. wow great build, what method have you used to outline all of the panel gaps? your panel gaps are really realistic.I have seen quite a few methods of how to do it but have never seen any of them turn out as good as this.
  2. some nice work so far, colour scheme really suits the car.
  3. That's some really nice work there Nick.
  4. Does anyone know if the revell tuner series has a DSM eclipse that has an engine,I have a vr4 kit which has no engine but uses the same engine as the turbo eclipse etc from DSM
  5. That's some nice detailing there, the rocker covers came up pretty good and look as realistic as you could hope for.Great build.
  6. An antique pearl white colour would go nice with your colour but maybe not so on that particular body shape.
  7. Very nice build,im looking for a kit similar to this to recreate an FED from NZ which is Nissan powered, never seen one in hobby shops here or in NZ.Again great work and attention to detail.
  8. Looking good so far, will you be clearing over top of the wood decals? that should make the wood "pop" abit
  9. Great job, colour has come up nice.
  10. Here is some more progress on the chassis, have also tried to fabricate a trans tunnel out of aluminium sheet but I can't get it smooth enough so will leave that for now.I will cut the centre section of the chassis out to be able to run the driveline down the centre of the car, once I buy a dremel tool I will do that along with cleaning up all the soldered joints.
  11. Yeh I have that build bookmarked, that's an insane amount of detail gone into his build, can only wish to get that good one day.
  12. Great work on this build Romell,it's great to see how much hard work and time invested that goes into making and modifying models.
  13. Thanks,I do have access to styrene but im not a big fan of the plastic look, eventually I want to be able to scratch build everything from metal and only have plastic bodys. For now im just using the first few builds as practise,it's getting pretty fiddly now that im adding more bars to the chassis so im pretty impressed with the skills of you guys who build from brass tube/rod.
  14. Hi guys, First off this is a great site,I have only built two models before one was a complete glue bomb which I will fix one day and the other came out quite good so now i'm attempting my 3rd build. This site has inspired me to have a go at a custom chassis build.I found this kit from Hasegawa and is a car I used to own and race back in New Zealand... It's not a very well built kit but I'll do my best to clean up the body, here is a few pics of the mock up and the look i'll be going for... Here is the progress so far,I have started on the basic frame,im going to just wing it as I go along.Im sure ill make mistakes as I go along so feel free to offer any advice,im using this build as a learning curve and will redo it once my skills are were I want them to be,the body I will just spray matt black until I can teach myself how to airbrush. Then I'll paint it gloss black with true fire flames Thanks for looking.
  15. I'm building both 1/24 and 1/25 and yeh I might try the welding rod and see how that goes,i'm assuming I can still use the same solder as I have been using,I already built the bottom of my tube frame which didn't require bends and the soldering has come up quite good so I have a decent handle on that part, thanks for the advice guys-will post pics up in WIP once I can get some materials together
  16. Thanks for the reply,I won't bother trying to anneal it I'd rather get the right stuff so I can buy in bulk,What should I be asking for as anything I get will most likely be purchased online? I just need to track down a supplier.
  17. Hi,guys Im new here,im originaly from New Zealand but I now live in Australia,I have built a few box stock models before but I recently came across this website and have been inspired to build my chassis with brass tubing.there is not much in the way of hobby shops in my area but my local toyworld had 1/8 brass tube benders,i know thats a tad big scale wise but it will do for now,it came with a few small pieces of brass which bent up nice so i bought some of the brass tubing that they sell but it won't bend properly. They can't tell me why so im assuming it's a different type of brass than what was supplied with the bender,i also tried ali tube but that also just crushes,am I doing anything wrong or will I have to keep trying to find the right brass?
