My version of this kit It is a nice kit, I glued the cab joins one by one. started with the left side. Let it dry, the roof side second. Again some drying and finish with the right side. This allows you to line-up the parts properly. I know it is still quite hard but it worked for me. Minor filler had to be used and I managed to keep the rivets in place. Hessel

Heavy Duty Low Loader

That Cat at the back looks like a 1:25 to fit the trailer. Is it? I have the trailer still in the box. Yours looks OK. Hessel -
AMT White Western Star (first time builder)

When it comes to Peterbilt Tim is the specialist . Your model looks real good for a first time builder of trucks. I'm from Holland and in our country US trucks are very rare. This is due to weight regulations. Hessel -

Cheetah extenable
Hessel replied to Hessel's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The trailer is 99% ready now. I've painted it yellow as you can see. Red and white are just tape from an electrician. Rear lights are from AMT. Mudguards are paper with plastic tape on it. Sprayed with mat lacquer makes the right thing. Hessel -
Pro Star and 53 ft Great Dane reefer
Hessel replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Dave, having read al these posts I wander if Moebius will cooperate with Revell for the Prostar and trailer. I have build the Lonestar and it is a great kit but the Instructions.... well there have been some complains. The Instructions from Revell are really great. Also the decal sheet of the Revell version is different. So, any news about that? Hessel No worries, I will buy it anyway :) -
Yes it does. Only thing is that the bug shield is transparent. I have painted its with a blue transparent paint to get it looking like this. Thanks for all the compliments. Hessel

Moebius Models Great Dane reefer update
Hessel replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Guido is a good friend of mine. I meet him at exhibitions and have been at his home to see his hobby room. Only thing, he does not speak English. For me as a Dutchman not quite a problem but for you guys :D...... So if you want to pop him a question and need some translation work I'll be glad to help you out. By the way: I wright for a Dutch magazine, does this mean I can get a pre-model as well  Thanks, Hessel -
Cheetah extenable
Hessel replied to Hessel's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
To be honest it is not. The dimensions of the Italeri trailer or wrong. If, and I say if, this is going to be a kit, I will consider changes in this design just to make the italeri containers fit. I now have plans for a tank-container as a cargo for this one. keep you updated, Hessel -
As some of you know I have already developed some trailers with CNC milled parts. The latest is a Cheetah extendable. Some photo's, at first the parts. And the build model. It still has to be painted of course. The first photo the trailer is not extended, the second is extended. Wheels are from Ertl. For more details look at my fotki. http://public.fotki....heetah-chassis/ Thanks, Hessel DMTC Holland

First Truck Build- Italeri Kit
Hessel replied to busmechanic87's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Italeri made a few 'curbside' kits as well as Revell. This DAF (I'm proud of the Dutch product :) ) is one of them and never issued as a full detailed kit. The others are the Volvo VN and de MAN TGA. The Volvo is off course a little American style where the MAN is also a very nice European one. Nice to see someone on the other side of the ocean building European trucks as I (as a European guy) only build American style trucks. (Also Australian and New Zealand) Here in European 99% of the trucks are COE. In the heavy haulage business you will find some conventional's but they are quite rare. There are also some people who keep conventional (or torpedo as we say) as a hobby truck. Nice model, keep on trucking, Hessel -
Custom LoneStar Day Cab- Update 9/13
Hessel replied to Chuck Most's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
A German friend of mine build his own day cab. He's building a wrecker out of this kit with lots of CNC milled parts. If you want to take a look, everything is in German except the pics :D http://www.die-leitplanke.de/1-herzlich-willkommen/4-modelle-im-bau-gebaut/i-h-lone-star-wrecker-m-1-25/ Hessel
