  1. There are always those who are never satisfied like I said if you don't like it... don't buy it....And it is a beautiful 392 hemi in that kit.
  2. Either buy the kit or don't, we are lucky they redid a whole new willys kit after the tooling on the original wore out, There never is going to be a perfect kit. and they did run that car with only one seat in match race trim and in other sanctioning bodies. Sure it's a omission missing one seat but it's a great kit. My gosh if there are so many race cars kits that are wrong or missing things that if I went by the criteria of a missing part I wouldn't have the joy of owning them and would have nothing to build, thats why we have a thing called scratch building and another thing called a parts box. I think we are lucky that the model companies haven't folded in the economy the last fews year, so I can live with a missing seat.
  3. The chassis is from either the AMT Too Much front engine dragster to TV Tommy Ivo's front engine car they are the same chassis
  4. I just got mine in the mail today, WOW what a kit, I like this better than the Hornet. I must say Moebius does the best instructions sheets I have ever seen in a 25th scale kit plus a Chrysler 300 sales brochure too in color. Mine is going the Bonneville route as when i was there a few years ago there was one actually running to make the 200MPH club .I can see a lot of versions from stock to pro touring with this kit.The whitewalls are really nice and the crispness of the molding is great. This would be a fun kit for a build off...
  5. The rear Slicks in the Mongoose Dragster kit are the ones from the funny car kits of the 1980's and 1990's, and most of the pro stock and pro mod kits from 1984 forward, not the Nostalgia funny car kits , the Goodyear lettering was removed due to licensing in this reissue, heck you even get the funny car front tires in this kit.The funny thing about these slicks is what they went on to become in other kits.., in the original issue of this kit (the Care Free Snake and Mongoose) the original tire molds were modified after these kits were done running, they were widened and changed from the Goodyear blue streak special lettering on the sidewalls and replaced with Goodyear Eagles lettering and these reworked molds went on to be used in the most of the Monogram and Revell pro stock, funny car and pro mod kits for many years, so they have come full circle. these rear slicks are too wide for to be correct for this time period on this dragster.
  6. The only ones that are close are in the Model King reissue Ohio George Multi maverick gasser or the new pad printed M&H slicks in the just reissued Barnabus Collins Vampire van, these are period correct, but not goodyears which Tom ran.
  7. Try eBay all kinds of parts in plastic and resin
  8. My Biggest Build..LOL and my Friends
  9. The Blue Thunder Blazer was never done because it was based off the TV series that only lasted 11 episodes, I talked to Bob Johnson about it years ago, He said after the series was cancelled no one would remember the Blazer so it was a waste of money.
  10. Medicine man is coming out around May of this year
  11. I Just received this from round 2 on the drag racing model releases they had listed .. "Jim, the Young American has been delayed and is rescheduled for late 2012 or early 2013, as well as the Polar Lights funny cars." Almost a year away!! OhBoy... more Gremlins Batmobiles Zingers and Barnabas Collins Vampire kits. Why even put out a schedule with kits and suggested dates on it, sure there are always delay even a few months sometimes, but a year.......Boy…The Carl Casper Kit was listed for May 2011 originally, these guys can't even come close, and I never ever complain and I have been in the Hobby Business and Drag Racing a long time..., But this is silly to list items and then nothing, and it took several inquires over a month or so just to get a response.Sorry guys I know some people have been wondering and sorry for venting..
  12. Here's some links for resin crew cab versions 1966 on one and 1965 on the other. http://www.rocketfin...uct.cfm?id=2620 http://www.hydroponi...0640098628.html
  13. Bad Medicine is a front engine hot rod/ dragster
  14. Chris your CD is going out tomorrow, I have been bombed of late with the racing season just weeks away at Pomona, I think you'll be happy. Jim
  15. The new M&H slicks that come in the MPC/Round 2 barnabas Collins Vampire van would just fine.
  16. here's a cutaway of Wally Booth's Pro Stock Gremlin
  17. Yeah I supplied them with that shot for the kit, Tom did run the side Canard wings from time to time so thats not totally inaccurate, the front wing was on the last issue from revell in the 25th scale kit, which the dyes are shot i guess. so they used the 24th scale kit, which i think is much better in some ways.
  18. The chassis is Metallic blue, valve covers are chrome, oil pan is aluminum, Engine block and heads are gloss black the wheels are aluminum color not chrome!!.The headers are semi gloss black. Tom's cars were painted Chrysler metallic blue.I almost forgot the white on the car was a pearl white. Also the rear tires are too wide for this time period on this car. I have attached a picture to help anyone
  19. Man I have never seen so much attention to the Gremlin, Here's another picture of the funny car that AMT did the kit of.
  20. Chris send me a PM and i'll get you some pictures. Jim
  21. I just wanted to back up what Art said here in the post above..I repeat NO Contracts have been signed by anyone, No release date has been mentioned.. I work for Tom McEwen and Tom would like to see his Duster done. But at this point we don't know even if the tooling is good and the Model King has to get a deal and time frame from Revell. And then a time frame for doing this if the tooling is good and then if all that goes good then a schedule when Revell will fit in the run and packaging that does not interfere with their schedule.I did the Box art as a way to show what it could look like, no box art or anything has been approved.Everything is just at Negotiations at this point.
  22. Guys I just put on Ebay a bunch of vintage 1980's top fuel and funny car t shirts and other drag racing shirts if anyone is interested, under kitswapper. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200702048457#ht_500wt_1413
  23. Put up the link to your Facebook page please
  24. Snake Chassis color on both the 70 Cuda and yellow dragster are black, I hope the picture helps. Jim
  25. As Myself and Tom McEwen told Art on the phone the other day, it's all about money, they simply won't do them if they can't sell them...PERIOD... If enough people get get on board it could happen, but weather its Revell or Model King there has to be a profit in it. Tom McEwen has no problems about being open to doing his old cars, Prudhomme is a whole there story, so don't plan on his cars being done, there are many other racers we know that would love to see their cars done. I'm just saying this is a great idea that Art is trying to do. I used to own SLIXX decals with the late Bill Robinson and Gene and we know some of these guys are great to work with and some are not.I have tried to talk to Revell as others have about redoing and updating these kits over the years which would be great, No offense to the model makers but we don't need anymore Mustang and corvette kits (my humble opinion only). And to share something with you, Bob Utalski who left Revell was their Drag racing guy and spearheaded the Chi Town and Hawaiian funny car kits and was interested in doing the 1965 A/FX dodge and Plymouth altered wheel base funny cars, but he suddenly left and the guys there now do know cars but not really drag racing. I may be wrong but thats what I have seen.So tell everyone, have them write, e-mail and phone. as I told Art, i think thats the only way there is going to be movement on the model companies part. And as I understand Dave at Model King can no longer get anything thru Round 2, only Revell which is a shame. PS also no matter what you have heard or read the Aurora Molds for the 1/16th funny cars, they are long gone, my friend Tom West designed those kits and has told me they are no more . Here's some artwork i did many years ago for the MPC vette funny car to made into a Mongoose car and my proposal to Polar Lights to do the A/FX cars, and it went no where, sad to say. Jim White
