  1. Good to see your progressing with your builds James and Mark.

Im currently at a stand still on the Belair, im patiently waiting for a delivery of some flat clear which should be on my doorstep next week some time.

All I have left is to do is finish the interior, all parts have been painted but some of the parts need a coat of the flat clear. Then Its just a matter of doing detail work and final assembly.

So while im waiting I decided to get started on another build.Hope its ok to build more than 1 Mark.

Lowriders are my interest lately so im liking this thread topic very much.

    Revell 65 Chevelle.

After some modifications to the rear chassis and cutting the coils, the ride height was set.

    Rough mock up.

  2. Very nice, Luke. Great, clean and smooth work as usual. Love all your vehicles in black. It's a trade mark. You are the Johnny Cash of model builders!

    Thanks alot Virgil.

Yeah I suppose you could call it a trade mark.Back in Black/Black Ice

Ive most definetly found my style, type and how il do my builds from now on.

    Johnny Cash

Look foward to seeing the Ranchero get Crankified

  3. Progress update on the Belair.

    Engine completed,added some extra detail.

Small hose that goes from water pump to manifold, generator bracket, fuel line, wired a TPB pre drilled distributor, throttle linkages and return spring.

  4. Thankyou for all the comments much appreciated

Do you clear your paint, polish it out or both? It's always slick as glass whatever you do.

No clear, no polishing. The finish is straight from the can.

As they say preparation of the primer is the key factor,I wet sand the primer(Tamiya fine white) with 1200 up to 6000.

How did you do the trim that runs along the side? It's difficult to tell from the photos. Is it foil or a combination of foil/paint? It doesn't look like the kit decals. Thanks, KB

Side trim is bmf and kit decal.

I cut off the silver part on the side trim decals then applied the white portion .

  5. I started this build in Dr Cranky's 3 day CB,but due to uncontrolled situations I was unable to complete it within the 3 days.

So In the end I took my time and this is the result.

Paint is my all time favourite Tamiya TS-14 gloss black.

Interior was painted with Tamiya TS-49 bright red and overcoated with TS-80 flat clear.

Basically its oob, just lowered a bit, Pegasus 1109 chrome Dz's wheels were fitted and used craft rhine stones for tail lights.

I would have to say this is one of the best Revell kits ive built in a long time, minimal mold lines and parts fit was excellent which made it a joy to build.
