hello KJ, I noticed brackets between the trailer wheels. are you adding fenders over the wheels? just curious because when I order mine I'm thinking of getting all the bells and whistles on it. this trailer is looking awesome! -

Conversions for diamond reo.
cappy625 replied to farmallgray's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
hello todd, these are some of the resin hoods I plan on using for that cab the first is the short diamond reo hood conversion the second is a white 4000 hood the third is a short hood for the white road boss. the dr hood you would still need to find a grill because it didn't come with one the other 2 do. and since DR, white, autocar and the white western star use the same cab you can use any of those hoods. correction also the road boss hood didn't come with a grill -
a set up like that is mostly a terminal to terminal run. not much backing up. once at the terminal the unit is separated then back into the dock one at a time by a yard jockey or reconnected to another rig headed to another destination. but once at a truck show/rodeo I did see a driver back up a set of doubles. but never a set of triples.

i'll order one when they are ready. and yes doobie a d8 dozer would fit on a lowboy with a 24ft deck. the trailer I pull has a 25ft deck had a d8 on it with room to spare. as far as a pay hauler I would imagine so since they disassemble them when they ship them. -

Question about Goosenecks
cappy625 replied to raildogg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
hello Richard I pulled a rogers years ago and one of the things I remember about that trailer was it had a small engine on it we called a pony motor. and it sat between the two main frame rails on the gooseneck the motor would run the hydraulics and their were two locking pins where the gooseneck would meet the trailer. once you lifted the trailer with the rams you would remove the locking pins then lower the trailer. those pins were the only thing holding the gooseneck to the trailer. the company I work for traded those rogers in for talberts around 7 or 8 years ago. so if you change your mind and want to build a talbert I can get you all the pictures you want. in fact I posted some pictures of the trailer I pull in the 1:1 section on this forum around 2 or 3 years ago. they are under detachable gooseneck. I hope this helps and good luck on your build looking forward to seeing some wip pics. -
