  1. Really cool work! I talked to you in Atlanta. Very impressive stuff.
  2. Here are some in progress pics for this one.....trying to get it finished for the Roanoke, VA show this weekend.... Interior is now in.... Baremetal foil on the lower rear window trim and wood bed floor is in place. I used Detail Master strips and African Zebra Wood for the wood... Here is a side mockup shot taken late last night.... and one from the rear... Thanks for looking and the comments I haven't been able to respond to. I have been working alot due to the snow storms we received here in TN, 80 hours in 4 days at the firestation last week.
  3. Here is a pic of the interior so far.... Keeps turning the pic sideways for some reason?
  4. Cool piece. I love me some factory GM resto models!
  5. Lookin good! Wish someone would do the high spoiler and Heritage Grille for these. Id love to build a model of ours.
  6. She wanted it suede looking so its got a coat of texture paint first the she sprayed the Tamiya Italian Red and did a dullcote.
  7. The red is Tamiya Italian Red and the Super Charger snout is made that way. In the pic I just have the top of the engine in place for the pic. I have to make the snout. Its a kit flaw.
  8. Here is a pic of the engine so far in this one...
  9. Here is the bed after inner fender mods and a few coats of texture. The color matches the Brown I am painting the truck. Once it cures out it looks amazingly like a color matched Line-X which is common to do on these once the bed mods are made..... Here is a shot of the hood after rubbing it out. Its a Testors One Coat Lacquer color called "Root Beer" with 4 coats of their clear then polished to 12K.
  10. Looking good Shane
  11. I may get some flack for this one. A lack of available subject matter has led me to look for late model trucks in other media. I found this one at Hobbytown last month. Its a Norscot brand 2014 Silverado Crew Cab. The main body is die cast but the rest is plastic. I have already begun modifying it and have most of it in primer. It has been converted to two wheel drive and had the modifications made to mimic a "Body Dropped" air bagged truck on wheels that scale out to 26". I have modified the inner bed structure with bigger tubs to clear the wheels and highly modified the front bumper in the same way 1:1 2014's are when they sit this low...... Before..... Its way more like a promo than a die cast in many ways. Since there isn't a part on it that won't be modified, I didn't mind building a die cast. This is a ride height and wheels mockup right before I started finishing the bed and priming the body..... Its not a look that everybody likes but its the kind of stuff I work on and build in 1:1. Thanks for looking...more update pics later today.
  12. Here are some progress pics.......We took it to Chattanooga and displayed it as a rolling chassis in progress and it won the class.... Sorry for the bad lighting, we were loading up for the show when I snapped these.
  13. Here are some progress pics of her project after a night of laying out stripes. They are Scale Motorsport Carbon Fiber and got cleared last night as well. This is the first time we mocked up the interior after paint...

  20. Its a 1927 Ford Model T Phateon
  21. Thanks Mustangdude, its Tamiya Italian Red coated with Dullcote.
  22. So my wife bought a kit at a show 4 years ago but after seeing the work me and my dad have been doing and attending a show a few weeks back, she has asked me to show her some things and this is her project. I have sat at the bench with her and demonstrated things, if there were two thngs to do I would do one and she would do the other etc. This is a Jada Bigtime Muscle kit and I was thinking it would make a good basic kit for her to start on but she has picked up on this very quickly! Add a little detail to these kits and they don't turn out bad. She picked it out herself so here goes.... She had seen me do screen inserts on hles before so I suggested opening up the Shelby vents. I showed her how to operate the Dremel and this is what she did... I also suggested if she wasgoing to do some mesh in those holes why not take some inside so I showed her where to cut the door panels and package tray, also slotted the door panels for seatbelts and here they are.... We also spent an afternoon and a night learning about taping off graphics and two-tones. This is the result........ Still wet from a minor cutting/polishing. We have Carbon Fiber stripes cut that mostly cover the red leaving only narrow stripes around the sides and in between them. I will be updating more in the next feew days...
