  2. I am gong to have to disagree with the post that both of these are accurate. The top one is a definate yes. Its a GM part available on the 69 Camaro SS. The lower one is a Grant aftermarket, they were also sold under Superior label, and was never offered as a factory part. There was a wood rim wheel which was availble in Walnut and Rosewood tones and were usually seen on cars with the Wood Appliques on the dash lower, headlight switch bezel, radio bezel and console panels. the GM wood wheel didn't have all those rivets on it. I say this because we bought one of the Grant wheels initially for our car. We ran it until we bought the accurate GM piece. Also, the same wheel was offered with a urethane/plastic type grip and it was simply referred to as the Comfort Grip wheel. Hope this helps.
  3. 1969 Camaro SS 396 1962 Impala 409
  4. I really like this alot! It looks great so far!
  5. Thanks for the compliments Trae, your Vette was super cool. I sent Tim K and Tinman an email detailing the events of the week, we had a really tough set of circumstances, prior to the show do you know if he got it? If he did I meant for him to share it with the members down there. The show was a great pick me up for a bum week.
  6. This is a conversion I have started from a Johan 1961 Oldsmobile 4 door hardtop into a 2 Door Post Sedan. Its pretty much done with the exception of some work in the rockers to fix the door scribe lines. Its going to be a shade of green that the cars originally came with a green interior.
  7. Another great show like I had remembered from years before. A great place to have the show as well as a great host hotel. TONS of nice models and vendors too. It was great to see you guys (Tim, Trae, Tommy and other members whose names I've forgotten)you have a really great club. Everyone who can needs to attend this show next year. Its well worth the travel! Now..gotta get in gear and have something new for next year! BH
  8. Naw man those wheels aren't too big at all.......like the project so far!
  9. I saw this one in CHattanooga Saturday....its a really cool piece. The top looks very good.
  10. I too never understood making the model resemble such a rarely seen piece. It would have been different if it had included both panels. Oh well, you have shown how cool the conversion can look! Awesome job.
  11. Me and Jeff Marsh will be going. Sounds like a cool format. It will be cool to try a contest like that... er uh I mean it will be a different way for me to get smoked lol!
  12. I can vouch for MAS/Terry as being nothing less than first rate! Parts like he says...when he says. I had a special part need and he made it happen. If you haven't used Terry's parts before, use em! Good stuff!
  13. I found myself looking at this one a few times today! Nice build! Very nice!
  14. Marc, that thing rocks! I always liked the 1:1 car you are referring to also.
  15. I saw the cool Stude that chris731 had posted below and it reminded me I had never posted completed pics of mine and it might be fun to see different variations from two builders. Here goes....the paint is Testors Phoenician Yellow Lacquer and Cleared. The body has had several subtle mods and line changes. It has MV Lenses, Pegasus Hella Wheels, Scratch built billet grille and a turned aluminum gas cap. Thanks for looking guys!
  16. The reason I did that is because I do 1:1 cars that way when I build them with a smooth monochrome engine like that. Its about a two day process in 1:1 to do that. It involves a complete tear down then slicking down all the cast marks off the case then etching primer followed by sanding then three basecoats and three clear. Then reassembling the alternator and testing it. I think a high mounted chrome alternator on a solid orange motor is entirely too blunt. To each his own I guess. Lol
  17. Very cool piece.
  18. Some progress shots form the last week.
  19. Thanks Slapshot....that's my car!
  20. That was sure one impressive display at the show yesterday. Very talented man indeed. I'm sure we all could have learned something from him.
  21. Mine is the Government issue lol
  22. Here are some pics made over the weekend during interior mock up and after paint and clear....The clear has NOT been polished yet.
  23. Here are some weekend progress pics. Stance is set and engine detailing has begun.
  24. Thanks!
