  1. Just an update. I had my order in for some ginsan for over three months. It finally arrived this week from Japan! Earthquake must of shook it loose....
  2. What about Kosutte ginsan? I keep hearing how great it is but can never find it available.
  3. Thanks for all the feedback guys. I have been painting 1:1 cars for twenty years so I know about blush. As a matter of fact with the new urethanes you hope for a humid or rainy day to paint. Keeps the dust down and helps the hardener to kick faster. I was just wondering about the Valspar as it is the only aerosol paint I have had trouble with. It is almost like the color is sucked into the plastic! Must be a different formula than rustoleum. If you ever do get blush with a lacquer job, put it in front of a infrared lamp or in the direct sun for a few minutes. I have even used a heat gun on panels when the job needed to get done quick!
  4. This is the third car this has happened on. I prep the body and primer using Valspar spray primer. Let it cure for a day then mist on a color coat followed by a medium wet coat. Part looks nice and glossy. Come back ten minutes later and the finish is dead flat! If I try to clear with Valspar clear the same thing happens. I have used duplicolor and testors spray without issue. Just wondering what is going wrong.
  5. It would be nice if we could create a list with links and make it a sticky for new guys to find the right stuff. I know I am getting tired of searching the net for what I want only to find out the site is dead or they are no longer in business but the domain name hasn't expired! While i'm here I will ask again whats up with auto atomix and Arrowhead Aluminum? Looks like great stuff but can't get it!
  6. The 210 body was different from the belair. The roof line changed due to the addition of the rear side window post. If you compare photos of the two you will see that the 210 rear side window area is longer than the Belair. Also the Belair model usually has the molding lines for the aluminum ribbed panels on the rear quarters. The 210 doesn't have these. As for pics and info, that car was built by Popular Hot Rodding magazine back in the 60's and is the longest running project car to date. Unfortunately ther isn't a lot of info on the build circa Hollywood Knights era. The car was recently re-done by General Motors and is a far cry from what it used to be. I can tell you that for the film the car had a small block chevy with dyers 6-71 supercharger, Cragar s/s wheels, no hood, a 4 speed and 9" rear with ladder bars and leaf springs. The interior was done by Tony Nancy in black and brown vinyl. The dash was painted the color of the car. Hope this helps. Matt
  7. Stradasports has the stencils. I just bought a white pen at Micheals and it works great! Its called inkssentials white opague pens made by ranger ink.
  8. Gregg, Send me the link info and a small banner and I will add it to my link list on my website. I sell American made performance and restoration products for cars trucks and bikes. I get a ton of traffic and you know most big car guys build the little ones too. You also need to optimize the site for the search engines. I would be glad to help you out. My site is www.lyonsperformance.com Oh and I also have a store on emodeler! Matt
  9. Thats great as long as the plastic stem doesn't dissolve. I recently got some Plastruct in the orange label bottle. Smells bad but works killer!
  10. It also has a lot to do with the temp of the pond. If you leave it in the garage and its cold it will take forever. I keep it in a 5 gal bucket with a lid and when I strip something I bring the bucket into the basement bathroom. Black enamel seems to take the longest to come off. silver and chrome will come off in an hour. It helps to stir the "soup" every once and a while.
  11. Don't feel bad. I'm a member and can't afford to go! Economy is too bad not enough sales to justify it.
  12. Thanks guys! scale finishes had the color listed on their site! will get some soon.
  13. A buddy of mine has a 2010 Camaro painted in Inferno Orange. I can't seem to find the color anywhere. Does anyone have a link to a place that sells new colors in small bottles?
  14. How did you find this out? It looks like the site hasn't been updated since 2008.
