  1. I use Duplicolor Cummins Beige. Item #is DE1638 and it's available at NAPA, O'Reilly's, or any auto parts store that sells Duplicolor Engine Enamel. Before I discovered that, I used Model Master Sand Biege. The engine in black Autocar below is painted with the Model Master paint. The NTC 290 in the second pic is painted with the DupliColor. Right behind that engine is the can I used, so you know what to look for if you should decide to use it. I figured I would show it in case you're not able to get your hands on Tamiya paints depending on your local hobby shop. It has a beige cap and it's a good size can. You could paint a Cummins powered fleet with it. I never thought about it being too dark until I read this thread. I'll have study in person some old beige Cummins engines so I can see for myself. If I can find one, lol. NTC 350 in Model Master Sand Beige NTC 290 in DupliColor Cummins beige.
  2. I found pix of my strangest load. Last year, I hauled this "racing tractor" from the New Holland headquarters in New Holland, PA up to the nearest Case/New Holland dealer in reference to the Watkins Glen, NY racetrack. I guess it does laps and things at Nascar races. It was tricked out pretty cool with chrome and spoilers. It went to the race that occurred in late July/early August '09 at that track.
  3. Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Thanks for the tips. I wish I knew b4 I primered my KW, with its orange plastic, but this will help with other kits. Any suggestions for black plastic, or will these paints work with those as well? I have some older Italeri kits with black plastic I want to paint. I'm mainly used to AMT's white or the really light gray that AMT/ERTL used.
  5. When you do build the trailers get an outdoor pic. It looks so real I can hear it runing. Nice work.
  6. Welcome aboard. This should be a cool project. As someone who pulls an RGN myself(just a tandem axle, though, I have to ask about the big truck in the last pic. Were the tires removed prior to transport? If not, do yo uhave any pix of it after it's loaded and tied down? I'm curious because I've hauled tires and other components for these, just never the whole thing.
  7. Another color I've heard blocks it well is light tan.
  8. Very nice work. Your uncle should be proud of this.
  9. I've heard of BESL. I've wanted to order some stripes from JBOT for a long time for my KFS Ford cabover, but the site's order form is never up. Seems like some of the Pete stripes have been made unavailable. He has a nice 352 set that I would like, but it seems they are unavailable now. Oh, and a 1/16 352 would be cool.
  10. I love a truck with stripes. That's a nice Pete. I've never seen an Ace Doran truck with a van b4, just the flatbeds, stepdecks, etc.
  11. It will be awhile b4 I can post pix as that will have to wait until I get home. As stated earlier, my build will be my screename, a KW pulling a flatbed. The trailer kit will either be the Great Dane Extendable flatbed, or the AMT Fruehauf flat. I'm leaning towards the Fruehauf, but I'm not sure. As for the tractor, I only know it will be a Kenworth with a Cummins engine(that way it truly represents me ), just not sure about cabover or conventional. I will get pix up when I can, as soon as I decide.
  12. Thw tach-o-graphs were a speedo and a tach. It was so the company could monitor how you drove the truck. Some, if not most, satelitte systems transmit that info as well.
  13. Tan Pete 359 from Dark Knight http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_145691-Peterbilt-359.html Pete 352H from Breaking Away http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_167922-Peterbilt-352-H.html The general from Knight Rider http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_6556-GMC-General.html The only dump truck shown on that site for Spiderman 3 was a tan single axle Ford.
