Well that explains some things for me a little further Dave. I always thought that it had to do with European roads being narrower and more windy in some places. Then again, it may be why the length laws are so strict. Reading what happened to your poor brother-in-law makes me appreciate my truck a little more. It crawls sometimes at 15 mph going up a very steep hill if heavy, but at least it stilll moves. I have often been curious as to why the single drive axle would be chosen in some of the more mountainous European countries. I hope the drivers are able to get a smooth ride from those shorter trucks. It seems here in the states, length laws as well as the bridge law are more heavily enforced in the eastern and northeastern states, where this country's oldest, and most populated cities are. The further west you go, you get to see some long trucks.

Looks good. Scott has some good points . Also, to add to it, flatbeds used in the western states tend to be of the outside frame type, where the frame rails are under the outer edges of the deck. I dont know what the advantage is to this typr of setup, but they use a lot of them out west. This trailer looks good tthough. I would love to pick up the milling machine. Between this equipment and your talents, the project possibilities are limitless.

You're welcome. Thank you for sharing those with us. I hope to learn to make decals on the computer. That would help with a few ideas I have. I just never sit in front of the computer at home long enough to practice.

I have the 358 kit Dave and I'm working on it as a side project while I progress on some others. It is a nice casting. The one I bought is missing the front spring hangers, which are narrowed for the narrow hood, but I will be just modifying my Cailfornia Hauler's frame to make up for it. I can't remember who got his molds, but I believe they aren't casting at the moment either.

Travis might be right. I meant to ask if this trailer was used in the western states, as this might narrow it down some. I know they have some brands out there that you don't see in the east.

These 2 trucks are very nice. They showcase each builders talents well. probably my favorite part is the weathering, as it is realistic, and makes you think you're looking at a truck that works every day, without the overkill. I love this type of weathering. Overall, I give these trucks an A+. I like the idea of building them for the same fleet, too. Nice job, gentlemen. They represent a time in trucking that I never got to experience, but I love the trucks of the 60's and 70's.

Thanks Jim, I'll check that out. I am still watching for that ISX. My truck still doesn't pull a hill, but at least it's giving me less problems. I can't complain as much, although there are still some bugs. Anthony, I like that Brockway you built. Dave Natale is a skilled builder and caster. I really enjoy looking at his builds on his site.

Thanks 4 taking the time 2 explain. I guess I could understand why he would be upset. He always filled the void with more unique items, like his turbo wings, air dryers, tarp straps, and other small detail items. And he had more modern truck conversions, and engines. Because of this, I really thought he would outlast everyone in the model truck aftermarket. Then again, he was underminded by the copycats. I don't blame him. As 4 the Plaskit lineup, great stuff there. I like the Ford hoods, and the T600/800 front suspension correction kit.

That would be cool. See if you could find a figure with like an old dairy uniform.

Anthony's right about that. I've been looking for his engines, especially the Cummins Big Cam IV that he had, and the Caterpillars. Good luck. Plaskit does have a lift axle from what I've seen. If you ever hear of the engines I mentioned, let me know. I'll keep my eyes out for your axle. I often wonder why Clint quit, he had some of the coolest stuff.

I notice you like the single headlights. You did a good job converting all these trucks to the single headlight.

My favorite truck in my favorite color. This looks sharp. You have a real skill for the light weathering, it's not overdone. Very nice.
