  1. Ok. I thought it was either that or bare metal foil by itself. That helps for future reference. Thanks.
  2. I agree with you both about Hank's. Speaking of the visor on the back window, how did you make that Tim? Again, nice work on the truck. I think this fleet also has Kenworth trucks, but I'm not sure. It's been a couple of months since I saw one their trucks. Most are dressed like this one from what I have seen though. Very nice choice in subject matter.
  3. Nice looking truck. Like you I have discovered that resorations can be a lot of fun. I like the color choice here. Very nice.
  4. Looks go so far Chris, and the house looks nice after the hard work you did.

  6. At the moment I don't. Sorry. These were taken with my cell phone, but the next time I can get up close, I plan to get some good pix with my digital camera. I tend to see this truck on I 10, so I will keep my eyes open for it.
  7. This is a very nice looking truck Tim. I like the window with the visor in the back. Pretty sharp.
  8. Dave, this will be an impressive piece of machinery when finished. As to the engine, you would be amazed at how many big trucks(like Euclids) used this engine. This was a very versatile engine that had many, many uses even in heavy duty work, so it's a good choice.
  9. This subject could never be done enough. 1.) Kenworth W900 from 1983 on(in other words square headlight) 2.) Pete 379(how did this NOT become a kit?????) 3.) Any reefer, dropdeck, or flatbed by Utility from the 1950's to present 4.) More lowboy/gooseneck trailers like the one Anthony Oteri built, and others I've seen here 5.) Dry bulk tanker trailer. Of course, I would like to see the trucks of the 1950's, along with trailers as complete kits, also.
  10. I'm a 1970's-1980's fan. I love the trucks, and all the 3 and 4 color paint schemes. A lot of your accessories were color matched to the truck, like air cleaners. I like that look. I do love my chrome, but as I have seen with so many trucks, you can really cross the line of good taste with chrome. I know my Pete(see "Miss Debra Ann on the 1:1 reference page to judge for yourself) had a lot, but I always asked myself before adding an accessory," Is this too much? Did I go too far this time?" I can remember seeing in a magazine where, and this is no exaggeration, a black Kenworth w900 had every one of its interior surfaces, walls, and everything else other than the seats, covered with stainless panels as if the truck was dipped in chrome. This included the floor, door panels, ceiling panels, and not just for accent. It literally covered everything. Now that's way beyond good taste.
  11. I love those 1970's color schemes. I miss the 2,3, and 4 color striping patterns.
  12. cool pix, I like the 341. nice color scheme
  13. I was hoping that wasn't the case, but it's one more reason I'm trying to quit while I'm young enough to enjoy it. Sorry that happened that way. On a lighter note, the project looks pretty cool.
  14. Wow, I really like these. I like the look of a dressed up yellow truck, these are cool. 8)
  15. I just saw this Pete in Arizona leaving Phoenix for California on I 10. I've been told this truck can be found at Danny's Big Rig Oasis in Phoenix a lot of times.
  16. By the way Officer Ahlborn, did Mom get better?
  17. Tim, the 2 in 1 idea is great! I wish that could be done for a handful of kits. As for the W900 conversion, thanks for clearing that up for me.
  18. Did you ever work in the business at all? I thought I read something about you working at a radio station at one time. I figured your longtime interest would've brought you to the trucking industry in some capacity or another. Or did you feel it wasn't for you? I figured maybe you drove or maybe worked as a mechanic(at a pete dealer of course) at one time. Do you deal with commercial vehicle enforcement in your dept? I know some Sherrif's depts. do. I never would've guessed you were a cop.
  19. Go to www.modelexpress.net. They have a good selection of trailers.
  20. For the last, I'd say, 3 years, KW has had a 6 slot wheel resembling those old 5 slot Cragars that I love. I would love to have a set of those. Yours look cool.
