  1. Great job on the weathering, especially the engine. Every bolt stands out. I'm still trying to master that technique. nice work on this Pete. The deck looks good, too.
  2. Are those brass rivets? Also, I would love to know what you did to make the single headlight buckets, they look very realistic. I am working on a Freightliner cabover myself, and would like to go with single headlights. This is going to be nice truck from what I see that you've done so far. Good work.
  3. Looks very good. Real convincing.
  4. Casey's right about engine choice. Where did you get that Cummins? I would love 2 find a 1/16 scale cummins. good luck with this one.
  5. Good luck with the site Dan. Tim, you did a good job while you had it.
  6. Thanks for asking. I am back to work. The Autocar is mostly finished. I have the trailers to finish. The lead trailer needs a tarp, and I still have to do the rear trailer and dolly to complete the Michigan Train. I am in the middle of moving to Missouri, with my grilfriend, so that will be set aside for now. I've been working off and on with other projects. Mainly my White Freightliner drom tractor, and some others I've been tinkering with. Anyway, that's it. Glad to see your back. I don't know anything about Crohn's, but I hope it doesn't flare up again. Good luck and welcome home.
  7. This looks very good. Nice work.
  8. Welcome back. I'm glad to hear you can go back to what you enjoy, not just modeling, but living.
  9. Well, at least it's another truck kit for those who can't find the wrecker body with other kits. 378 would've been best. We have Western Star kits out there don't we????? Why did they drop the 378, I still can't firgure that out.
  10. Looks good so far. I love these restoration projects.
  11. Flat black. Now that's different. reminds me of the flat black powder coat stacks I've seen on some Petes. looks good.
  12. Looks like a cool project. I will be watching this one as I would like to see the progress on the trailer. I would love to learn how to build some different tankers aside from the AMT Fruehauf. I know it will be cool, as you always do great work.
  13. Tim, this looks good. You really captured that "California look" by dispaying it with the double flatbeds. Nice job. I agree with the other modelers here that the road looks good, too.
  14. Nice color choice and the wheels go well with it. Looks very nice.
  15. That is one GOOD-LOOKIN' headache rack. Nice job.
  16. very cool
  17. I've still only seen the commercials but the special effects look good. I would love to do a model of Optimus Prime(as a truck of course). Your diorama looks cool.
  18. I believe it was Ken Smith(If I'm wrong, correct me). I'm pretty sure he was the one who wrote the article in Car Modeler magazine a few years back, involving 2 Revell AG Beall tankers to make a B train. I myself plan to try and adapt that article to AMT's Fruehauf Tanker, since I have several of them. Watching Ice Road Truckers gave me the idea.
  19. Looks good, and as Tim said, nice East Coast look. Growing up in NYC, most of the wheels I saw were spokes.
  20. Oh by the way, Dave, you will find that a handful of trucks of this vintage have their engines partially stuffed under the cab. It makes maintainence of the rear of the engine so much fun. The V6 is a good choice though. Again, excellent work on this project.
  21. Dave, Excellent work. I can't wait to see this one finished. Looks like a challenging build.
  22. Thanks Chuck, I was wondering about that. I plan to model my Utility 48 ft flatbed trailer eventually, and I know I will have to find sheets and other materials of a pretty good size, for the rails especially. I will check out Evergreen's website.
  23. Wow, that is really cool Chris. I wish I had something like that to model my Utility flatbed that I pull everyday. The parts are cut from a big plastic sheet, right? Where did you get that big of a sheet? Anyway, fantastic job. I like these West Coast trucks.
  24. You could do spoke rears, disc fronts. I've seen quite a few trucks that way. I think the KW from the movie High Ballin is set up that way. Looks good so far.
