http://www.walthers.com/ You will find lots of HO Scale items here. There isn't much that they don't have.

Nice. It brings back childhood memories 4 me. I grew up in NYC and I remember going up to the Observation deck in the towers a few times and looking out over the city.

I can maybe guess by the name, but I never heard of this show. What was it about? I was born in 1978, was it on b4 my time? -

I'll bet he made a small fortune considering it was aluminum. Mine has the aluminum deck with the 3 nailer strips, and a steel frame. Did you make that coil yourself? If so, how. The only coils I ever had are the ones that come with AMT's Fruehauf. You loading eye to the front(shotgun) isn't totally wrong if it's a really big coil. I think if they are very wide, then they are loaded shotgun. In 3 years pulling a flatbed, I've only haued 3 or 4 loads of shotgun coils, but the dimensions were such that it made them easier to tie down. You would be the guy to ask, as I've heard both sides of the argument. I have a 10' 2" spread. I can't dump air from my axle to lift it while cornering. Is it true that spread axle trailers that can be dumped are more prone to axle and frame damage? Or is it better to have a trailer that can dump air from one axle for cornering purposes? -

To get a VT-903 Cummins engine, you need an Ertl International Transtar 4270 kit. If not, Model Truck and Fire Apparatus co, which is now AITM(American Industrial Truck Models) had a resin Cummins V903. AITM is supposedly going to make the old Model Truck and Fire Apparatus co product line available in full eventually, so check with him and see if that engine will be released sooner or later. If I remember right, as I still have an old catalog hiding somewhere, it came as a naturally aspirated engine, and you had to add a turbo. A partsbox turbo should do here. -
I have a couple of others, but my camera broke, so any photos you see with a trailer, like the one above, are courtesy of my cell phone cam. As to my Freightliner, it's going slow. I haven't been able to touch it for awhile, but I did find another pic of one on Hank's site. I need to find some more parts as I'm trying to avoid a raid of parts from fresh kits if I can help it. But anyway, we'll see what I can come up with. Here are a few pix including some that the dealer emailed me. The one with the trailer is from my phone.

Nice truck -
Good to hear you made progress on it. I started a few, finished none. LOL. It's that much!!!!!!!!!!! Wow! I'm doing ok, though. I have a different truck now, one that I trust. The T600's constant breakdowns put me behind and I let it go back. If you add up the lost time I had in '07, it's almost 3 months of time. That's what hurt me. Even with the price where it is now, it wouldn't be so bad if I had a more dependable truck last year. Thankfully though, my pickup and most past debts were paid off. I promised myself after sitting in that hotel room for almost 7 weeks that I would catch up my bills and pay everything off in case it happened again. I did, but, still, the money never comes back when you sit that long. I don't blame Kenworth, or Cummins. After all, it was the warranty people dragging their feet that made things so bad. We all end up with at least one lemon in our lifetime, and that was mine. Overall, I'm not even bitter. I was knocked down but I'm not out. You will now find me in a 2000 Pete 379, powered by a Cummins N14-525 with an 18 spd. Oppurtunity knocked, and I jumped at it. Minus one or two bugs, which every truck has, this truck has more than proven itself dependable. It is an absolute pleasure to drive. Here she is with two US Army generators and storage containers. They were sold off as surplus.

Dave, many flatbed trailers over here, including my Utility flatbed, have what is known as a "Coil Package". It's extra crossmembers that are closer together near the middle of the trailer frame. It's extra support for a load that is just one very large coil, like a 40,000# coil. -

Hey Scott, regarding the tarps, I just remembered a trick I learned in this forum. You can use the wet napkins, like the ones you get at KFC. Just cut to shape(leave a little room), drape over the coil and let it dry out. I noticed you did install the 4x4's under the coil, and looking very closely, what appears to be a coil rack. Nice touch. HippyEd, you know your regulations pretty well. -

I also have a mid 70's brochure by KW with this truck in it. Well, same paintjob, red interior. Here is the link where I found it, and MANY others. http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thsca..._vit_conv_1974/ I hope it helps -

http://www.jbot.ca/cars/trucks/movinon.shtml This link will take you a very accurate set of decals for the truck. ....and this link will take you to AITM. The 60" sleeper closely matches, in fact I think it is, a KW sleeper. http://www.aitruckmodels.com/pages/sb3_res...leepbox%20.html If you have a Revell of Germany W900, you would actually have a closer match to the real thing than with the AMT kit. All you would need with this kit would be a Cummins engine, the torsion bar suspension, and the decals. The sleeper, door handles, grille logo, interior, and other items are more accurate. The AMT kit is more accurate to represent the truck from the movie "In Tandem", which was the pilot for "Movin' On". This link below is a basic run down by Tim on how to accurately build a model of the truck, using the AMT and Revell kits. Midway down the page. http://www.angelfire.com/mi/TimsManufactur...e/movinon3.html If not, a new sleeper and a second KW battery box on the AMT kit will bring you closer. I hope I helped somewhat. -
