Nice car Adam
Must..get...done...today...
-
I like oven cleaner.
Never have been able to get brake fluid to strip paint on a model. Of course when I spill out on the radiator of my 1:1, it takes the paint off in a matter of seconds
-
Never seen one before but it's something I'd probably buy if it was available.
-
I'd finish my truck, but first I gotta have somewhere to finish it! Therefore, I'd build a HUGE shop full of all the tools one could ever need.
-
Dishwasher.
I also play guitar and work on my truck. It's just that washing dishes is the one that actually PAYS.
-
Excellent progress, everyone! These last two weeks seems to be the most active time in this topic.
Because procrastinators like me realize that the CBP is about done! It kinda sneaked up on us
-
It's been neglected, but it looks like it can still be saved.
-
Thanks Jim and Mike!
Small update, got the body in primer. Got a few imperfections to work out still, but it'll be ready for paint soon. I'm going with some Chevy Orange engine paint for the whole car.
-
Here's a pic of the '55 as it sits now.
Gotta clean everything up and paint the hood...then it's done.
-
well It was getting pretty boring.
I agree...I liked it before Junior left OCC...I enjoyed it more then. Or the time that Mikey got the truck stuck in the pond
-
Thats strange, I actually LIKE BMFing.
You're hired
-
Ok...I'm still alive.
Been held up lately due to school, work, and working on my 1:1. However the other day, I pulled the '55 out of the box and did some foiling (did you know I hate foiling with a passion?). Mainly just gotta finish that and then paint the hood. Then I think it'll be about done. Some real nice entries so far

Glad to see that some companies still care...
-
Do you think it's called EvilBay for no reason?
-
Model.
Reflections on the car look a little odd to me.
Sweet car though!
-
Thanks everyone
Niko, I remembered the gas tank straps, the Metalizer paint was still wet when I shot the pic so I couldn't paint them then. Today I'll try to buff the gas tank a little bit and try to get it looking nicer
-
Thanks guys

I'm breaking my silence with this one...
After trying to build a model in a month for the Gearz contest, I got burnt out. Suddenly I got inspired to work on this, which was sitting in my stash.
I'm really trying to pay attention to details on this one, I want it to turn out nice...
^That's my first true wiring job. Really glad with how it came out
I'm going to detail the chassis with parking brake cables, fuel lines, etc., but I can't really find much info on it. So I guess I'll keep searching
Thanks for looking!

Just curious as to what people have done for functioning parts (Hood hinges, latches, wipers, etc.). I'm building an AMT '70 Camaro and I'm trying to detail it to the levels of what MrObsessive would do (OK, probably not gonna happen, but I'll try anyway). An idea I had was functional windshield washer squirters that used a balloon in the trunk-similar to that of how 1:1 old VW Bug washers worked.
So, what functioning parts have people put on their models?
-
Professional dishwasher on the weekends!
But it's a paying job though!
-
Comparing to a $17 Revell model, $40, maybe?
I would buy one on occasion..
-
Luna, I think Andy might have finished his 55 Chevy already, if not I know he was close to finished. Also, 08seal (Liam) finished his 50 Ford F1 a while back.
No, I've been busy working and doing school. I haven't built models for a while now
However my '55 isn't that far from being finished. Mainly just needs BMF (which I hate doing with a passion).
-
So which pixel is the car?
-
Nope. It is already thinned plenty from the can.

W...w...w...wait for me!
FINALLY pulling up to the starting line in my '55.
Definitely not one of my best builds, I tried a lot of things on this one that I've never done before so that's expected to happen. But I had fun, and that's the whole point anyway, right?
Good luck to everyone in voting!
