Whenever I try to drill out distributors, the drill bit slips off every time. I never have any luck trying to do fuel lines and all that good stuff. When I try to scratchbuild anything, it always gets scrapped. I have yet to scratchbuild one good part...
I really want to try a 100% factory correct '69 Charger, but at this point I don't think it's possible
Can anyone please give me pointers on a clearly uneducated person on detailing?

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
I've wondered how to make my firewalls more realistic for a long, long time
-
Then the licensing fees are an even bigger problem.
Ok...that makes sense.
-
What if I'm in a smaller company?
-
If you were the head of a model manufacturing company, whose primary job is to maximize profits, and you had the choice of adding realistic tires with correct tread detail and correct sidewall lettering (and paying a hefty licensing fee to do so)... or adding generic "close enough" tires with no licensing fee... what would you do?
If it were me, I'd just bite the bullet and pay the licensing fee. Yeah, it sucks, but you gotta keep the customers happy.

and a "close enough" attitude.
That's not how us model builders roll
Licensing can't be THAT much, can it?

Never used anything like that in a rat rod, but I just keep spare bodies only to say I'll make drag cars out of them
-
Carbs are definitely molded badly.
But you gotta give them credit for the invisible alternator brackets!
-
Guess I never updated it from the last time

Nice build for a nice cause.
Where did the Stratocaster come from?

I think the Tamiya white paint is a fluke. It's happened to me, and a few others.

Very cool, might want to adjust those mirrors though

Quit putting too much torque to it!!
You can try using a hair dryer (but not so much that it MELTS the plastic) and twisting it back that way, or you can use hot water (not boiling).

Sox and Martin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But, what happened to the '77 GMC truck?
-
Yes.
I'm gonna say model.

Your only option is to get some styrene sheet, fill the hole, then cut your smaller window opening out.
Then, buy a Hot Wheels car, and take the blister pack off of that for the glass. An excuse to buy a bunch of Hot Wheels

The guns interest me the most.

Did you read Gregg's post? He said that off-topic stuff is ok! (except religion and politics, the two big no-nos).
Sorry, I'm just not good with interpreting those kinds of posts Thanks.

DANG!!! That's what I like to see
-
So what's that mean then? All non-car related threads go bye bye, or what?
-
Time to change my entry
Not perfect by any means, but I just love the way this one turned out.
-
Thanks guys!
Jim, I was going to do black with white stripes...then at the last minute I decided on Fathom Green to stand out more
Oh, and Mark, I didn't realize there was no driver until I had already submitted the pictures

Thanks Andy

I just can't detail anything!
