  1. Andy, that reminds me of the guy that had a balsa wood eye........................................................................................................................"wood " I like to have a bike like that ? Oh...... wooden I ? bob
  2. Robert Pettine, is that Mustang in 1/16 scale ? If so who was the manufacturer ? That is one cool loking ride. bob
  3. This comparison ( or choice ) is unfair to either car. We are deciding between apples and oranges. The choice should be made between two manufactured cars or two concept cars. The cost difference between the Buick and the DeSoto is astronomical. Give me an unrestrained budget, one years time, and compare my effort to a Citroen 2-CV. bob
  4. Tell us Zeb, would you build them the same way now ? Heh...heh...heh ? bob
  5. In my opinion what really makes this build stand out is the use of the Ala Karts' roof without chopping it. the stock height makes the lowness of the body really stand out. GOOD JOB bob
  6. Your wife is right, the color belongs on a model, not on fingernails bob
  7. Zeb, do the grille as it is right now, ie floating. the rounded off headlite areas look good also. but, PLEASE close off the opening in the hood scoop, OK ? bob
  8. you will enjoy it here, Mike. Have fun bob
  9. UNFAIR ........UNFAIR........UNFAIR Pitting a 4-door against a convertible ? How 'bout voting on which is the best snack food...........brussles sprouts or a package of twinkies ? BTW ...........I like the Olds and the twinkies bob
  10. This WIP, as with others all talk about mocking up the model for fit. My problem is that all my efforts, lately, seem mocked-up when I am finished with them. LOL bob
  11. Hey, Zeb, wanna a better grille for that '57 Bird ? bob
  12. Greg, Just so long as you don't feel that my comments are ....................................paeth-etic .................. bob
  13. I agree with everything Gregg said except ..................................................................................................................................................the word is spelled...........................................................discombobulated. but besides that you do seem to build acceptable models............... bob
  14. I would agree with the aforementioned "congrats". I too have found this site to be less restrictive than some of the others. So far as mentioning these "web masters", I can think of two who would not be missed. bob
  15. I think that the Pontiac "dream car" in the background is interesting. I would assume it is a resin-cast ? bob
  16. Watch what you say about the "stone age" Harry !!!!!!!!!!!!! . LOL bob

    Badillac

ooooooohhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Ths is one of the best customs to grace the pages of this site. To steal a quote from MacDonalds, " I'm lovin' it ". I wouldn't do another thing to it except to add a little paint. This is my tye of custom work. bob
  18. Hey, guy, those rear fenders do not look like a Ford issue. They are too flat to be Ford. Where did they come from ? BTW, your styling ideas are very good. bob
  19. When you chrome plate any thing that is made from steel, you have a residual effect called "hydrogen embrittlement" This is what causes the object to be weaker. To counter this conditition, platers bake the object in an oven at high temeratures. This restores the steel to it's original strength. When I worked in the plating industry, this is the process we used on bike frames. bob
  20. I had to vote for the Merc because it lends itself to the customizers torch much easier than the Buick. bob
  21. I'm not sure whether Zeb is refering to me or not but ................. In my opinion you should leave your 'find" as is. This is the type of model that the museum in Salt Lake City looks for in presenting the history of our hobby. I would agree that this model was built in the '60's due to its' design and quality of build ( not up to todays standards ). What ever the year was that the '55 chevy pick-up was introduced is probably the year of the build. Bob
  22. I very rarely make comments on builds because I have seen so many over these many years, it seems superflous. But once in awhile .................... The design of this creation is outstanding and leaves me outstanding in the cold. This should have come out of the styling studios of Chrysler under the name of "dream car". Bob
  23. I really dislike the idea of contradicting my fellow members but one must be true to oneself at some time in his life. The fact that there are no words to describe Marks current build is totaly bereft of any research in the thesorus. I would suggest: oooooooh !!!!!!! bob

  25. There are two things to consider here, the coupe and the paint job. I think that you have applied a $50.00 saddle on a $10.00 horse bob
