  1. It would not be taller than 13'6" from the ground the DOT puts a height limit on it due to passing under overpasses.
  2. Have you given it any thought to flush fit the headlight and grill to the front fenders and bumper that would clean up the front end a lot.Just my two cents
  3. Your project looks cool I like the idea.I did notice one flaw your intake don't fit right you are using a small block intake on a big block the ports don't line up nor does the intake fill up the valley.Other then that it looks amazing and like I said I like the idea keep up the good work.
  4. The best thing 'bout custom modeling is there's no rules, no right or wrong just do as you please. These trucks are a prime example of creative imaginations as well as the ablity to think outside the box.Way to go guy keep up the great work.
  5. That is inventive and looks great as well.Good job thinking outside of the box

  9. I have been out of modeling for a while now but have been watching some great builds on here. So lets see your custom long wheel base rigs.If you don't have a long wheel base rig then show off your custom rigs. I work on trucks for a living and love to see them come into the shop I will start taking pic's if I can remember to.Here's your chance to show off your skills.
  10. For the engine why not something modern say Iike a 4.6L DOHC out of the 2003 mustang corba or the 5.4L DOHC out of the super stallion.
  11. okay you have found a mut Rick you are right that is a model T grille and the cowl is a model A.but the cab is a model B with some custom work done.
  12. Thanks for your input Tony I did think about that and even considered putting the fuel cell and adding a door the access the cell but decided against it I was afraid it would take away from the overall design. But who knows I may still do some type of access door.I am building this as a drivable but nonfunctional factory built concept car this is what is referred to as a test model.Just a lot of flash and not everything works.
  13. Got the first coat of primer on now ready to start sanding
  14. Either way it's going to be awesome because its a Fairlane and not your run of the mill mustang or camaro build.I will be checking on this one
  15. Thank you for your help
  16. I am looking for a modeling clay that can be used with styrene and won't shrink to much. I am working on a dash that has a complex curving shape and has some voids that need to be build out and filled in.I have tried sheet, and strip styrene with no luck.If any one has any info that can help me (The product name, where I can get it,and what the cost is)I would be grateful for any help that comes my way.I have attached a some pics of the dash I am working on.I still have a little more cutting and fitting of another piece before I am ready for finishing. Thanks Thom
  17. Thanks for taking a look at my wip Here is a side profile A close up shot A 3/4 side shot from the front left A 3/4 side shot from the left rear The rear end The front end from above
  18. Thanks for your input 3 new pics added. The new sides and hood window, getting closer to primer
  19. Looking good the stance is perfect, your wheel choice is right on with the style you are building.I believe the color will be spot on. How's the engine work going?
  20. I'm building a 1968 ElCamino and plan to use the the engine from a 94 ZR1. The engine that you plan to use is going to look way cool.Take your time and cut off some of the engine then just trim to fit it is easy. The bell housing from the Chevelle should line up nicely with a little trial fitting go slow and make it stand out from the rest. Some pic would be cool. (check out mine it is titled ElCormino and can be found in this forum) I do have a question to ask what are your plans for the body, hood, and hood window please shoot me an email you can find my address on my profile. Maybe we can make some kind of deal. Thanks!
  21. I live in the Tampa Bay Fl.(Clearwater,Fl) area and in search of a club to join.Any one know of any in this area.any info would be great. Thanks Thom
  22. I started out with a 1969 ElCamino blend in a 1997 Corvette rear pan then added a 1970 Corvette L88 hood scoop.paint will be Atomic Orange and Bright Silver in the fashion of a late 1950 to early 1960 style paint scheme. More body mod are in store in the way of adding vents and body scoops. Chassis and interior are not even started let but will be a blend of Corvette ZR1's from the 1994 and 2010 model years. Look for more to come the L88 hood front view from above a view straight on the front a view from the back side and the paint scheme a blend of old and new with the strips of a grand sport 1962 Corvette side panels blend in 2010 Corvette ZR1 hood window blend in Almost ready for first coat of primer
  23. Very nice build and like the idea of the LS 9 under the hood.
