-
i may jump in here if its a no time line cbp! i plan "actually partially started" custom pumper truck using a pumper body from the alf pumper kit, if i can get the right parts! i will also use the louisville shorthauler chassies! the wheels will also come from the pumper kit the body is a resin griffen international harvestor 8100 series conversion kit (long oop from sts model trucks) and im hoping to get the parts needed such as mirrors and glass and etc from a 4300 amt kit! now i have to wait for the next time my stepmother comes up to bring me the resin conversion! i actually got some progress so far if i can find the pics in my photobucket!

im surprised that tim didnt jump in here yet! but i do remember that kurt put a c-series (i think it was a 15) in his 357 triaxle dump truck! i think that engine is long out of production last i heard and that was years ago! mmmmmmmmmmmmmm............... -

man i dont think im going to pull my 1:12 bel air back out of storage any time soon after seeing the build of (currently) this "masterpiece!" i think im just going to leave it in storage for a while longer until after this is done! "ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE!" of a scale b/w 1-10 and 10 being the best it just blows 10 up and bypasses 100 like it standing still!

amt pete 359 tri-axle custom
bandit1 replied to bandit1's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
i hope and hint the word hope to be working on it soon! i want to try to get the frame back together and ill see where i go from there. but eventually this thread will end up being a wip! -
hi guys hey kurt i found the ol' girl... this is a custom triaxle pete 359 ertl/amt kit that i am building... well at least started on what 2 or so years ago? i had started to add a extra section of frame from a old partially built up and painted midnight express kit (had no decals) and then i went and started to modify the body to put dual air breathers on it (as you all know it was a single breather) by adding the extra breather whatever its called! (non trucker building model trucks )to the cab and then cutting the hood for the extra breather which i still need to clean up just a tad! and i traded off the kit engine for a 3406 cat... yeah a CAT guys... that i had started to assemble and mock into place... and then the worst thing happend!... had to pack everything up and move!... and then it was stuck in storage for a while... then well as i was going through everything to see what was there and what wasn't i spotted it and said oh heck yeah i know what i was doing with that and then well heres the pics after i finally broke her open and started to look to see what kind of damage and what not had happened so ill let the pics do the talking here sorta...! heres the decals! heres the wheels heres where i modified the hood ... the cab ...frame( it fell back apart!) comments and crticism welcomed!

man i guess im a modeling machine! i worked on it some more. here is where i modified the drive shaft that goes in b/w the two rear drive axles. it just looked to "plasticie!" heres the photos- heres the front shocks on! rear shocks- (probably is not the best pic!) heres the completed frame! just prior to paint... i think i gotta stop by the paint store first before i get any paint work done! dang it! by the way i need some help i looked at the possible engine swap for the 3406 but it looks like i wont beable to use it cause in a 1:1 the axle would come up and slam in to the oil pan on the very first bump and cause all kinds of engine issues! so is there another cat motor that would work minus the 3408? -
