Just ordered a Hasegawa Group 88C Minolta Toytota and an Accurate Miniatures Gran Sport Corvette from the *same store* for less than $50 (with shipping, it was $58).
I didn't realize pictures were kinda required, but I'll post 'em as soon as the kits are delivered
I can't find anyone locally that carries Testor's semi-gloss black (including Hobby Town, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels). None of those places even has a spot for it in their paint racks. I am forced to buy it on the web. Simply amazing.
Possible names:
San Antonio Sprue Crew
Alamo Miniature Plastic Automotive Modelers
Alamo City Model Car and Gun Club
San Antonio Styrene Auto Appreciation Society
Lone Star Plastic Maniacs
Others??
Sea World - I can see their parking lot from my house.
Once per year is not enough. I notice that I missed this year's event by just a couple of weeks. How big is that event?
I thought I was going to have to try IPMS.
I could setup a web page for us if anyone is interested (I'm a programmer by trade).
I'm in awe. I want to scratch-build pro-stock chassis, but I don't have the necessary soldering gene, so I'm going to have to remain in the realm of Evergreen. My first question though is how to make sure you bend the same angles on stuff that appears on both sides of the car.
I bought an old unassembled Bob Glidden '87 T-bird kit to use as an example of "where things go".
I'd been reading bad things about R&D though (don't recall where). It's a lot of money for an unknown quality. Besides that, I googled the transkit for about an hour, and couldn't find one available for sale anywhere. I did, however, find a Super Coupe kit, but I'm not willing to pay $240 for it.
I know this is an old thread, but what would be REALLY cool is to be able to build the 427-equipped Super Coupe.
Maybe someone will do a transkit for this model when it comes out.
I had one of those Gunze kits and couldn't manage the build.
+1 on the 1967 Cougar, and I can guess why you want the dual-quad variant.
I'd like to see a complete Trans-Am series of models come out, including the Cougar, Boss 302's, Camaros, AMX's, and AAR Cudas.
