  1. I have a nice Wicked Red airbrush paint I would like to put on a '58 vette I am building. Question is, does this paint need to be thinned before use, and if so, with what. Wicked says to use Wicked thinner, but I am no where near anybody that sells it. Thanks
  2. Would love to have a kit of this, any idea where to find one. I had a 1:1 of this, bought new in 1978, chocolate brown, and would like to do a model of it.
  3. Questions: 1) Do most paint small parts on the tree, then assemble, or assemble & then paint. 2) Do most spray paint motors and parts, as well as interiors and seats, or do you use brushes. Looking at some finished jobs on here (WOW), wondering how the painting gets done so well. Thanks
  4. I have a couple of nail brush colors I've been waiting to try. One is a deep red & the other a bright yellow. Either will have a tan leather interior.
  5. I have a 56 ford pick up soaking in the pond due to silver paint puddling along the bottom of the truck. Question: After taking the model out of the Purple Power, do you strain it to remove the old paint, or leave it in the container, as is, for the next time?
  6. I see a lot of home made distributors on the cars here. They look like they are made from Aluminum tubing. If so, I am wondering on the diameters of the 2 sizes of tubing used, and if not, what material is being used. Thanks for the info!
  7. The 'Cuda has silver fine tip marker for the door handles, hood pins, etc. on the car, and the blue Dodge (Color Me Gone) is a weekend warrior drag car, didn't figure it would have chrome trim anyway.
  8. True, I have a package of Bare Metal, problem it is 10 years old and I don't think it would work. May have to invest in some new stuff. Also, these 64 year old sausage fingers don't work the best anymore.
  9. These are the only 2 complete builds of 2016. The Jeep is an older SnapTite model. Hopefully 2017 is more productive.
  10. I found that Windex does a great job at removing chrome from parts.
  11. TaDa! I found the floor pan. I was looking in one of my desk drawers for paint brushes and there it was. It was under some misc. stuff. Don't know if it fell in while I was working on the model, or whether gremlins in the basement hid it on me. I am in the middle of the 32 5 window now, but this will be back on the workbench soon. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
  12. Did up a couple of paint samples for the car. I showed them to the missus, she picked the green. I was leaning toward the copper, but we all know who won. Next build, I'll pick the color.
  13. Sounds like it may work. If not, just another repaint.
  14. I am about to start a 32 Ford 5 window coupe. The kit comes with plain & louvered hood panels and trunk. As the louvres are too small to open, I was wondering if after painting, a black wash would fill in the louvres and make them look like they are open. Just wondering if anyone has tried this, or if there are any other suggestions. Thanks
  15. It's an AMT/Ertl from 1998, oldie but goodie. I have some small sheets of metal from Hobby Lobby and am thinking of trying to fabricate a base that would work. Not sure how to go about it, but would be a good custom item if it turned out.
  16. Checked with Round 2, they only go back as far as 2008.
  17. Thanks, I'll give it a try.
  18. This what I am missing. 20160615101647.pdf
  19. Trunk does open, I'll check at lunch & let you know. Thanks
  20. I've been working on an AMT 1957 Bel Air hardtop I had started a long time ago, the date on the instructions says 1996, so I've had it a while. Assembling the frame last night, and getting ready to do some painting on body parts. Went to grab the interior tub and seats for painting and lo & behold, no interior tub. No idea where it went over the past years, or even if it was there to begin with. It is a nice kit, even came with plug wires and a sheet of Bare Metal Foil. Back on the shelf she will go unless I can find a spare interior, or it may become a parts car. Now on to a 1932 Ford 5 window, hope it goes better :-)
  21. Not really looking for this specific model, just a 55/56 kit to build.
  22. I have been thinking o casting some parts from kits to use on future projects, wheels, carburators etc. and am wondering how hard it is to get started, I saw this small kit at Hobby Lobby, and was wondering if it would work as a start up to get going.
  23. Our family car is a 2014 Kia Optima EX, 15,600 miles on it My daily car ( in the summer) is a Limited Edition 2005 Ford Thunderbird, #1322/1500, 54,000 miles onit. Winter truck is a 2009 Chevrolet Colorado 4x4, 48,800 miles on it.
