I will join the finish club. It has a great look and the right stance already. I really kind of like the finish on the body as is. Go for it!!! Oh, and the oil pan would not stand a chance on a 1:1 but, you could raise the engine a little with taller motor mounts, just an idea I thought I would throw in.
Oh yeah Lane, a lot of the bed rails were actually painted black on the real ones. Just another option maybe. Anyway if you fill the bed with sandbags no one will ever know.
I'm with you on the bmf Lane, I have used it and hate it. It never looks right unless you get it perfect and I have ruined too many other wise good paint jobs with it combined with the Exacto blade. I did a set of rails with foil and another with silver paint, guess what I like the paint better. I use silver paint or a Prismacolor pen with clear over. I am working on this same kit right now. Mine is green and black. Keep it going, I'm interested in what you are doing with the chain and other details.
Nice story, (all but the part about getting soaked, been there, done that), thanks for sharing. That is indeed special watching Junior win in front of his fans. ( That could be anywhere). Your Wife is pretty special also!
This is one of the best I've seen on here and a very nice photo. My guess is MODEL, and only because I can't see the key hole for the trunk, it might just be the angle.
Cool mix of parts here, very interesting! Now I'm wondering what you did to the Fiat frame. There are so many possibilties with this kit and i love it!
It looks good to these old eyes. I think you ought to build the Offy one to go along side. A couple of tow vehicles to pull the trailers would be nice also. It's a neat little kit with lots of possibilities.
