It's Testors 1127 orange enamel. I painted the white silhouette of the rat then applied a clear decal over. Sorry for the out of focus interior. I'm still trying to learn photography. The car is really still in the works also. I started with a free body given to me by a friend who built a resin sedan delivery and had the left over body. It's all parts box stuff.
I believe those parts are to install a small electric motor and battery with gear drive. Probably universal parts supplied in a lot of the early kits, as this is a reissue from the very early days. The models were running toys when completed often times. Those moons would really look good on another car, maybe a 37 Ford dry lakes car I'm thinking. You have a fun build going there. I will check back later, please keep it going.
Very little rust, actually just the right amount of paint wear, this truck could easily be restored. Love the logo and the generator wire is a nice touch. Your interior looks right from what I can see, you did do some research. Nice!
Love the look. I had one of these new in 1969. Now I want to build one after seeing yours. Did the red line tires or " wide ovals", as they were called, come with the kit? Awesome job I would say you nailed the look. Now burn some rubber!
Is there a simple way to post pictures? I have different results every time I try this. I get real small thumbnails or they are to large to attach. Sometimes if you click on them they will get larger. I have had very limited success. Anybody?
The 37 Ford Panel is a Revell / Monogram kit originally the circus version. I made my own decals. I will try to post some more pictures...still learning. Thanks for the comments.
Thanks Steven, The bikini top was made from paper towel, string and white glue. I really don't know how to post pictures properly yet. I'm still a newbie.
I vote for white or maybe cream on the interior. The engine may really help this kit along the right direction. After seeing yours, I checked my quick build of this kit and the only thing I really liked from this kit were the wheels with the moon style discs. It was an over simplified kit from the early years but, still a fun build with a great look from a distance. Under the car is room for a small electric motor. If you can turn this car into anything else worth looking closely at I will be watching. Good luck.
Matchbox Volkswagen Classics, love em, thought I had them all. No models but, gift card for Hobby Lobby, I can see in the future a model maybe. Bought a Hudson for my Grandson who's name happens to be Hudson.
