  1. thanks. well. I have certainly seen pics of these retraints, or whatever the actual technical name used; from the U.S. on the net. But they do have them in Europe as well. I will post a pic of one later on so you can see how one looks.
  2. Happy to hear it cobraman.
  3. Thank you Blsckbeard.
  4. Thanks Sam. I am also hoping to get it done too.
  5. Thanks Ken.
  6. Well fellows, it has certainly been a while since I posted my last truck build, especially longer if we mention a 1/24 scale diorama for that matter. Here is where I am with my latest project, representing a Truck 'on/off' loading bay. Now, let me apologies for not posting pics from the very beginning stages of this build. Unfortunately I lost pics from that time period. I was doing a transfer from my phone to the computer and erasing the originals at the same time. So, these are the ones that I have available for you all to see. But, I still have a bit to go before this is finish. So hopefully, I will be able to take some photos of the process from here on out. Hope you enjoy the photos. I wanted something different to work on and I thought this theme would provide some interest. It will incorporate a trailer, docked, and an open cargo bay next to the one you see in the diorama already. I will also add a forklift and some workers inside one of the bays. I am, trying to keep things simple, yet interesting for the eye to gaze upon. so we will see, if I can achieve the look I am going for. As always, things might change along the way or not, but regardless of how it turns out, I will try and make it an interesting diorama. The base for the diorama is made out of foam board or poster board and placed on a picture frame. The Bay parts were made scratch built from plastic styrene and rubber materials, cut to fit. The signs were made from photos of the real thing scale down in Photoshop. The big opening which is painted a dark brown will remain as is. I decided it will not be seen, so there would be no point in detailing something that on one will see. As the reefer trailer is going to be docked right up to it, it will block out whatever view there is. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g136/tiking/WIP%20Truck%20Bay%20Diorama/truck_loading_bay_gate_f_zps2v8ku73t.jp[/IMG The truck restraint mechanism was also built from small part as well as scratch built parts: I added parallel guides for the truck on both sides of the bay door. They are made from thick and harden electrical wiring material. I picked this out of a container which had been discarded. I thought, it would come in handy one day. This pic shows the almost finished facade of the adjacent building. that will be place on the long side of the diorama.
  7. than you fellows. Appreciate the support. glad you like the results.
  8. Thank you Al.
  9. Thanka you Randy.
  10. Well. I am not too sure how they are suppose to look. I mean. I see cats around here...they always seem to go in the woods. most of the ones i see are not really dirty. Most are well groomed. but i will remove it regardless.
  11. Nicely put Peteski.
  12. Thanks fellas.
  13. I do not seem to know what to do with this model. Seem to be moving it around in different diorama scenerios. This is version 3 of the Samba saga as I call it.
  14. Thank you. It was very easy.
  15. Another version of this dio prior to the present one:
  16. Thanks a lot. Appreciate the uplifting words.
  17. Yeah. I too like her speeder. Awesome looking. If you like speeders, be sure to check out my Facebook page, https://m.facebook.com/groups/1656376861318673?ref=bookmarks. Its about anti-gravity vehicles.
  18. Ok guys. Here is my latest build. It is a Recon vehicle for a wasteland type scenario. Being imaginative here. Anyhow, this is my 7th anti-gravity vehicle. I will be working on my 8th one very soon. I know. I am in a anti-gravity type mood. Hope you all like this version as well. The build, as usual, is heavily kit-bashed materials from various models. But the gist of it is from a 1/12 Honda Bike. I used parts from both 1/35, 1/24 and 1/12 scale to bring this mobile vehicle to its present state. Some parts have been modified and some very minor scratch building involved. It was a fun build. I am still into trucks but I wanted to take a break from it for a while. I will be getting back to truck building very soon. I already have my next project, which will involve, scratch building and heavy modifications. So, I will be doing a small vignette and another anti-gravity vehicle, then I will get started on my truck. So hope you like the pics for those who are interested in this type of theme.
  19. Ok fellows. Here is my version of the desert speeder from the new Star Wars film I mentioned earlier before. As I mentioned before, the base of this speeder was a toy version that I bought for spare parts. After seeing the Jakku speeder version put on the net, I got inspired to do a similar model but, as always, I tend to go one-step-further in my builds. Here is the toy version, compared to the the toy version, to the real model from the film. I like the version seen for a some seconds in the desert when Rey is flying through the desert on her own speeder. As you can see below the toy version isn't all that fantastic: Now this version of Finn's speeder, above, is ok but I did not like the gun mounts. So I had to removed them. Secondly, the thickness of the bars or braces were also a concern. They did not look good to the naked eye. So I had to completely removed them by sawing them off. I opened up the engine exhaust holes at the rear and added styrene tubings over the original bracings to hide the clumpy and glossy look of the bracings. The one from the movie, below, is more slender in terms of the bracing work. I like that. The short screen capture of the one from the movie: The netting was made of Tamiya tamiya tape. I simply used a piece of brass wire as the frame and litterally weaved the tape around and across the frame. That simple. I just love the Tamiya tapes or Scotch brand tape. As we all know that they actually make the Tamiya tapes. I decided I wanted to make my speeder more interesing by adding some kind of equipment in the cockpit. Don't ask me what they do but since the the Jakku speeder was build by scavenging parts, then it shouldn't matter what was used or what the various parts do. Just use your imagination. So the end results is what you see in the pics. This might not fit right with you Die-Hard Star Wars fans but just think of it as another Jakku Speeder upgrade. Thanks for looking.
  20. Glad you like it. It was a fun build. Working on a small speeder bike at the moment, that is almost complete.
  21. Thank you. Yeah. I know what you mean. I had to move things around here and there to get a feel of how things will look in the end.
  22. Thank you.
  23. Thanks for looking.
  24. This diorama is nothing new. That's because it is a smaller version of the first diorama I built some years ago, which I dismantled because of unsatisfactory reasons. But, I wanted to do a smaller version of the previous one, but was not sure how I wanted it. So here is that same diorama with exception of the US figures. I wanted the attention to be on the opposite side. I think I am satisfied with this version, although, I am sure there will be others who preferred the latter diorama to this. But no worries. To each, his own. BTW, I still have not improved on my figure painting as the figures have been left the same as on the previous diorama. Simply have not enough time to fully concentrate on that. So, I only, repainted certain parts of the figures and weathered them a little. I was hesitant in showing this diorama due to the figures not being up to standard. But I have been busy with other Sci-FI projects lately. Anyhow, I hope you all like this version 2, regardless of the first. Thanks for your support and pepping me on my journey towards improvement. Small note. I had done more weathering after these photos were taken on the building.
  25. Thanks. I will leave it as a simple display base for small vehicle I will build later on. Thanks for the suggestion.
