  1. Ok guys. Here is my latest build. It is a Recon vehicle for a wasteland type scenario. Being imaginative here. Anyhow, this is my 7th anti-gravity vehicle. I will be working on my 8th one very soon. I know. I am in a anti-gravity type mood. Hope you all like this version as well. The build, as usual, is heavily kit-bashed materials from various models. But the gist of it is from a 1/12 Honda Bike. I used parts from both 1/35, 1/24 and 1/12 scale to bring this mobile vehicle to its present state. Some parts have been modified and some very minor scratch building involved. It was a fun build. I am still into trucks but I wanted to take a break from it for a while. I will be getting back to truck building very soon. I already have my next project, which will involve, scratch building and heavy modifications. So, I will be doing a small vignette and another anti-gravity vehicle, then I will get started on my truck. So hope you like the pics for those who are interested in this type of theme.
  2. Ok fellows. Here is my version of the desert speeder from the new Star Wars film I mentioned earlier before. As I mentioned before, the base of this speeder was a toy version that I bought for spare parts. After seeing the Jakku speeder version put on the net, I got inspired to do a similar model but, as always, I tend to go one-step-further in my builds. Here is the toy version, compared to the the toy version, to the real model from the film. I like the version seen for a some seconds in the desert when Rey is flying through the desert on her own speeder. As you can see below the toy version isn't all that fantastic: Now this version of Finn's speeder, above, is ok but I did not like the gun mounts. So I had to removed them. Secondly, the thickness of the bars or braces were also a concern. They did not look good to the naked eye. So I had to completely removed them by sawing them off. I opened up the engine exhaust holes at the rear and added styrene tubings over the original bracings to hide the clumpy and glossy look of the bracings. The one from the movie, below, is more slender in terms of the bracing work. I like that. The short screen capture of the one from the movie: The netting was made of Tamiya tamiya tape. I simply used a piece of brass wire as the frame and litterally weaved the tape around and across the frame. That simple. I just love the Tamiya tapes or Scotch brand tape. As we all know that they actually make the Tamiya tapes. I decided I wanted to make my speeder more interesing by adding some kind of equipment in the cockpit. Don't ask me what they do but since the the Jakku speeder was build by scavenging parts, then it shouldn't matter what was used or what the various parts do. Just use your imagination. So the end results is what you see in the pics. This might not fit right with you Die-Hard Star Wars fans but just think of it as another Jakku Speeder upgrade. Thanks for looking.
  3. Glad you like it. It was a fun build. Working on a small speeder bike at the moment, that is almost complete.
  4. Thank you. Yeah. I know what you mean. I had to move things around here and there to get a feel of how things will look in the end.
  5. Thank you.
  6. Thanks for looking.
  7. This diorama is nothing new. That's because it is a smaller version of the first diorama I built some years ago, which I dismantled because of unsatisfactory reasons. But, I wanted to do a smaller version of the previous one, but was not sure how I wanted it. So here is that same diorama with exception of the US figures. I wanted the attention to be on the opposite side. I think I am satisfied with this version, although, I am sure there will be others who preferred the latter diorama to this. But no worries. To each, his own. BTW, I still have not improved on my figure painting as the figures have been left the same as on the previous diorama. Simply have not enough time to fully concentrate on that. So, I only, repainted certain parts of the figures and weathered them a little. I was hesitant in showing this diorama due to the figures not being up to standard. But I have been busy with other Sci-FI projects lately. Anyhow, I hope you all like this version 2, regardless of the first. Thanks for your support and pepping me on my journey towards improvement. Small note. I had done more weathering after these photos were taken on the building.
  8. Thanks. I will leave it as a simple display base for small vehicle I will build later on. Thanks for the suggestion.
  9. Sorry about the wait guys. I have taken this dio to where I have decided to let it be as is. I have already started on another dio. So I am leaving it as it is and calling it quits. If anyone is interested in this dio I am willing to sell it for about $45. Let me know. Otherwise I am going to just dismantle it and use it for spare parts.
  10. No. Everyrhing, including the sidewalk, road and building structure are basically poster-board which has a foam material sandwiched between two very thin paper. Then I just spread some wall filler in very thin layers in some areas.
  11. ok thanks. Jim, the scene takes places in Libya. The graffiti I guess shows a rebel doing the warrior scream, I guess.
  12. I am not sure what I want to do with this little diorama but I might just add a Technical with a couple of figures or find some other theme. But so far, this is what I have on hand. Still a little more work to do on it.
  13. The completed build. Some tune up here and there but its pretty much done. Thanks for watching, although this topic is not of so much interest here on this forum. But I appreciate the little interest you have shown here. Until my next build guys. Chow! My apologies for the bad pics.
  14. 31. I decided use another wire that I found in a dumspters. I simply cut both ends to reveal the copper wire inside. Then I measured the distance between the two Electro attachments and made the cut. I also wrapped a much smaller wire around the the thicker one. I just thought it would add to the overall look. Then I primed the wires with black charcoal paint and then dried brushed them with silver.
  15. 30. The cable attachments. I had the choice of two. The first one and the second version. I choose the second alternative just beacuse of the way it looked. Alternative 1. Alternative 2. Alternative two mounted together and base painted. Will dry brush it before mounting it to the Electro attachments. The cable will not be glued as I want make any changes if I am not 100% satisfied with the look after mounting it. So there are mount holes at each end that will make it possible to just shove the cable in the and out it the need arises. This is one of the main reasons I chose to use lead soldering thread as the cable. It makes it possible to pose the cable exactly the way I want it without any movement.
  16. 29. The Electro cable that will attach to both the pod and the engine. I used a soldering lead thread is what I used to make the big cable. A thinner steel wire is used to wrap around the bigger cable. THese will be painted black then dried brush with silver.
  17. 27. I think the overall look on this old beast is starting to look pleasing to the eyes.
  18. 26. The painting is done on the area surrounding the intakes. Will be doing some dry-brushing later on them.
