  1. I thought the wrinkles gave it away as a model BUTTT..in blowing up the pic I could not find any "flaws" so real......or a really good model
  2. Very cool man...seeing this brings back memories, the first car I remember my parents having was a pea green '57 wagon and I do remember my dad complaining it was gutless! I think it had a 6cyl. which would explain that, the thing was a tank!..when I was 5 in '61 my mom was rearended by a kid in a '56 chevy hot rod who lost his brakes sending us into the back of a Comet while at a red lt. he hit us at 25-30mph and back in them days their weren't any car seats!..not sure if it even had seat belts I ended up in the back back with the groceries, my sister from front to back and mom had a stiff neck for awhile! and if I recall the car wasn't hurt that bad
  3. Well a couple of years is a lotta pondering! but it looks well worth it!

Thanks...bruce I believe that was something like garnet red Duplicolor
  12. Well I seem to be following in Jame's(nails) footsteps kind of..basically it's been awhile since the budget allowed a resupply trip to the HS or any aftermarket... got lotsa kits but as most of ya know your lucky if that's even 1/2 the cost.. so I haven't started anything new for awhile...but I do have a coupla boxes full of old builds and I've been cleaning some up, taken some apart to redo just using supplies on hand. When a lot of these were built I had like one parts box..I now have 5 bigger and more organized "boxes" so adding or changing a few things bring some of these oldies to life again and it's still modelin' and since they haven't been posted before I get to take new pics. which I also enjoy and am always trying to do a little better..hate seeing a nice build lessened by poor pics. but that's just me anyway I built this around '99 after looking at Richard Lasseters's build in building and detailing scale model cars, still thinking about changing the wheels to stock, I just gave this a good cleaning!... anyway at least it gives me something to post now and then!
  13. Hey James that's a nice collection of 'Stangs since our budget hasn't allowed any trips to the HS for quite awhile, or ordering from any of our aftermarket friends, I've been doing the same thing with some OLD builds 10-15 yrs!..but hey I get to see all the places I've improved thru the years..I've taken some apart and "fixed" them up it also gives me new things to photo which can be fun itself trying new shots etc... one peeve I have is a good build ruined by terrible pics. especially with todays cameras, yours look very good by the way. I just finished just such a project posted in drags if you haven't seen it, anyway's man I'm glad your havin' fun with some of those golden oldies
  14. Scraping the paint from the portions top and bottom of the body were key. It's a basic skill, but I sometimes glue glued surfaces together myself. Then, when they fall apart later I cuss and give myself a talking to. I usually listen. For a while. LOL you and me both brother!..and it seems when I "forget" the basics it bites me in the ass! Iv'e called myself a few choice words anyway beautiful job on this Bob
  15. Yes sir it is!..and since I'm not having a lot of fun lately I'll take it where I can get it..and it does help get my mind off things for a little while and thanks guys for the compliments, 'preciate it
  16. last two..
  17. Hey guys..guess this fits here best, built the Camaro awhile back and thought it might be fun to give it a hauler and trailer so I dug out an old F-100 panel from the junk box and the remains of an old AMT showcase trailerI then spent a few hours going thru my parts boxes for the rest..the rack on the trailer is made from various pieces of evergreen. The main goal was to do this project with only material on hand..all I can afford right now! not my best work ever, but it was fun and I got to spend a little time at the bench!
  18. So it was fun right!.. well it looks very well done and it looks like the ref. pic, works for me!!
  19. No slings or arrows...but I could give it lots of compliments!!..nice rail Drew

    My Avanti

Well I was looking at James's Avanti so I thought I'd post one I did awhile back. Iv'e always thought these were really interesting cars and showed some "out of the box" thinking although I believe they wanted to compete with the Corvette
