  1. Darn... I kinda thought that might be the answer. Is it in any way possible to convert a Scout II. Or would it be easier to scratch build one. I can do small scratch building, but I don't know about a whole body. Any Ideas?
  2. I need to find a 1966 body style Harvester Scout. The only models I can find are the Scout II version. Is there a resin body of the year I need? If so, who makes it?
  3. I would suggest trying the Oven cleaner on a piece that you don't mind destroying because that stuff is pretty strong. I don't know if I would trust Oven cleaner, but it may work. Good luck with the builds.
  4. That's a good start, I'll be watching this one for sure.
  5. Looks great. Just a tip use the IMG code on Photobucket to show your pictures.
  6. I will probably just use whatever is cheaper 'cause I'm on a tight budget right now. But thanks for the suggestions.
  7. Just so you guys know, I only said Evergreen 'cause it's the only name I know. I don't really care which brand I use.
  8. Yeah, I just looked on Google maps and found a Hobbytown half an hour from me. Guess I'm going to have to take a trip there soon and take a look around. Thanks for the help.
  9. Thanks, didn't think there were any I guess I will have to buy it online.
  10. Are there any stores that sell Evergreen products. I need to buy strips and sheets for an upcoming project. There is a Hobby Lobby near me but they don't sell Evergreen and there is also another Hobby Lobby opening soon. Otherwise I don't know any other places that might sell Evergreen products. If there are no stores that sell this then I will just have to buy it from Ebay. Thanks for your help.
  11. Good job on the weathering. Hopefully I will be able to work out those problems 'cause it's the closest I can find to what I need. As for the interior, I guess I will just have to maybe do a little customizing and scratch building if I have to. Helps that I have a 1:1 truck to look off of if I have to. Thanks for the help everybody.
  12. What are some of the major issues with the R&R conversion? And how hard are they to fix?
  13. Got another question for you guys along the same lines. If I'm making a stepside should I get the long box or the short box? The only difference would be the frame and the bed.
  14. Found a '72 Ford pickup conversion at R&R for $60. Guess that I'm going to have to save up for a while to get it unless something else comes along. At least it's the same generation as the '68 unlike the '66 so it should be easier to make. If you guys find something else please let me know.
  15. Also if there isn't anything else that will work, would the '66 be a match to the '68?
  16. Does anybody know where to find a good 1968 era F100 resin body? I'm trying to make a model of my friend's truck but I can't seem to find the body I need. So far I found a crew cab and a chopped version by Blue Oval ResinWorks and a 1966 F100 Transkit by Motor City Resin. I don't really want to spend nearly $70 for the Transkit and I need a regular cab that's not chopped so is there any other place I can find what I need?
  17. Looks to me like you're doing a great job on this restoration. If you haven't decided already I would suggest using a dremel to get rid of the material in the grill. I think it would look alot nicer that way.
  18. I've been looking for a late 50's and 60's Ford pickup but they are either non existent or extremely rare and expensive. I looked around and only found one built. I hope he doesn't mind me posting the link. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1739&st=0&p=11238&hl=+1960%20+truck&fromsearch=1&#entry11238 Good luck with this one hope it turns out well.

Sorry everybody about the bad pics. Once I get some money saved up I'm going to try to get a descent camera. I'll be sure to post new pictures when I get a camera.
  20. That's awesome! If I could have any car in the world it would be this one.

Thanks for the comments everybody. I've actually learned alot from this site and hopefully Ill be able to apply some of my gained knowledge to my next project. In hindsight I should have removed the side trim but I was rushed to finish before the car show we were going to. Forgot to mention that the visor is made from putty and I also put in some bucket seats from my parts box, don't remember what model though. Might have been the 2007 Mustang but I'm not sure. The wheels are Weld Draglites from Ebay. Here's the link not sure if there are more for sale: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-24-Weld-Draglite-Wheel-Set-Prostock-Drag-Cars-/260811530063?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb9941f4f#ht_500wt_949. As for the comment about the kit not being too great... lots of flash and parts were warped including the hood as you can see in the front picture.

    '52 Chevy

Hey everybody, thought I would start my first post with my latest build. This is the first model I've made that isn't completely stock OOB. It started out as the AMT 1951 Chevy Bel Air. I made this to replicate my Dad's 1952 Chevy. The only mods I made were: 350 Chevy small block from Ebay (real one has 355 with over 400 hp), first time wiring engine, hood scoop made from putty, exhaust with sidepipes, side posts from putty to replace the ones made into the side windows, front grill inserts from putty, and some Draglite wheels from Ebay to replicate the real one. Also tried to make some decals for the rear window and license plate but only the licence plate worked. This was also my first time making flames on a car so it needs work. I'm slowly trying to get better so feel free to make comments. I've only used Photobucket pictures on Craigslist so I think these should work. (Sorry only camera I have is my crappy phone.) Real car: Model: Thanks for looking, I know it's nothing compared to other models on this forum but I'm trying to get better.
