  1. Use embossing powder instead of flocking because it's cheaper and IMO looks more realistic. You have to buy foil online unless your hobby store has it. And for the wire, just go to radio shack or steal some out of non-working electronics. If you buy wire online, you will overpay way too much. Electrical wire also works for coolant hoses as well. If you do a little looking around in the "Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials" and the "How Do I" section you will find plenty of resources and out-of-the-box ideas.
  2. Cool, I'm definitely watching this.
  3. Wow, that looks great. Nice job!
  4. I like the idea of a side exit exhaust for this car.
  5. This is so cool! Don't know how I could have missed this.
  6. Thanks, I'll try to remember that when I start working on the suspension.
  7. Too bad more people won't join this build, it could get interesting with all the crazy minds around here. Anyways, here's the mockup for my Edsel Gasser. Being my first gasser, I think I got the stance right. What do you guys think?
  8. Well, I just uploaded 8mb of pictures, which is alot for me. The upload speed stayed within 80 and 90 kb/s as compared to the 30-40 kb/s I got before. Thanks Jordan, this helps so much.
  9. But in a "street car" like the OP mentioned, you would still need a battery for the lights and such, right?
  10. No, the magneto acts as the alternator. A weedeater or even a gokart for example does not have a battery or alternator. Instead the magneto acts to generate electricity and distribute the electricity to the spark plugs. A car, however, still would need a battery and alternator to power lights and such.
  11. I make them on paint, then copy them over to Word and resize there. That way you don't lose any detail like you would just using paint.
  12. It's possible, but the Syclone, like the S10 and Blazer, has independent front suspension. This type of suspension can only be lifted about 2 or 3" before you need to start modifying the control arms and torsion bars. This has not been done in real life because Syclones are rare, but I'm sure this has been done before with a kit. Although those who lift this vehicle probably remove the body kit and just call it an S10 since the Syclone kit is cheaper and easier to get than a first gen S10 kit. Another option is to put a solid front axle out of a bigger truck or jeep, this is what real S10 owners would do for that amount of lift. If you need any additional help or clarification, just ask. I have an S10 Blazer so I know a good amount about these vehicles.
  13. Awesome job! I was thinking about doing something like this.
  14. Most guys here airbrush, but I get pretty good results with a can. I use brush paint for smaller pieces and to add details.
  15. Good job on that 'stang. The mods are listed in the beginning of the video. Jake, i think some people may want a few pictures to look at as well because they may not want to watch the video.
  16. Keeps getting better. Can't wait to see the end result.
  17. That Camaro looks great. Just do like they say and try something new on each build. Start out with plug wires and flocking, then you can start making little mods like a cowl hood, a chop, or something like that. Over time you will get the hang of it. Maybe you should try making a vehicle for Doc's Zombie build. You can do whatever you want with it, and it's pretty hard to mess up. Or try making a ratrod, can't go wrong with them.
  18. If you have old electronics you can steal the small gauge wires out of them for spark plug wires.
  19. Looks great, keep up the good work.
  20. Is it just me, or do these pictures look fake? They look like CGI.
  21. Looks good. If you can, try to find a "macro" setting, that should make your pictures better.
  22. Alright I will, I got the Nova cause the tires will work for my project but Ma's has alot of things I need for upcoming builds. Thanks for the help.
  23. Agreed, the tips are great, but should be angled slightly. Keep up the good work.
